I thought Wallace was THE male lead, going by the trailers and everything. I only saw the trailers for this series and it looks really good. For those who've seen it, what are your thoughts? Good? Bad? Must-see?

Found this interesting interview with Yan Kuan on Youtube. He sings, talks about his brows, career, his thoughts about Meng Qi You & hopes. After watching this, I find I respect Yan Kuan much more for his professionalism, effort and personality. Really hope he gets some deeper roles in the future.

Thanks so much for sharing this video! What a great interview! Yan Kuan seems such a friendly guy and I so agree with you about his professionalism and personality I love it when he was talking about tea and I felt SO MUCH sympathy pain when he talked about filming his Yan Qing scenes (OUCH!)

I cried toward the end even though I would not say this is the best series nor the worst.

I don't have any favorite characters even though QY is a likable character. Despite being a fan of Ruby, her character in here is not a favorite either. So much hope and expectation before watching. It's still enjoyable though. You just watch it and then move on.

I'm based in Shanghai. QSHF is now airing on 5 channels simultaneously - Zhejiang TV, Anhui TV, Guangxi TV, Guizhou TV, Qinghai TV. Zhejiang and Anhui are major important channels within the top 5 in terms of viewership. The other 3 are smaller area channels. Ruby Lin and Sun Li (of Zhen Huan Biography) are competing heads on as the biggest drama divas.

I've finally come round to watching this series now that its second broadcast is underway and have been reading the comments on this thread. Just a note to Huo Mi - why not give the other actors a chance? No need to lay on the hate all because Wallace Huo is not a major character and doesn't get the girl. He chose to be a support character since he only gave the production 1 month or less to film. This series is really not all about him y'know.

I'm amazed by Yan Kuan's performance as Qi You here. I'm not actually a fan of his, but I always thought he's a really under appreciated actor and I'm glad he got his major career break with QSHF. I also really like Wang Yu (Qi Yun, 2nd bro of Qi You). He reminds me of a hotter Ouyang Ke (LOCH08 version) with the white outfit and long hair, and he really conveyed that sense of melancholy well. Based on looks alone, my vote goes to Zhang Kai (Han Ming) although acting-wise, he's nothing much. Just hot to look at, haha!

Now I know where people are coming from about Ruby as Princess Fuya. She's far from a "great beauty"-type, and it did (initially) require a lot of suspension of belief on my part that all these handsome kings and princes can fall so hard for her. Yes, the scenario of multiple handsome princes falling for the same girl did happen in BBJX, but somehow the plot was kinda more believable. The most "errrrr" part I found in QSHF was when the Shu king insisted on marrying her and at court, all his three sons knelt to beg her not to marry her because all of them have fallen in love with her. And at the marriage ceremony, you had both Qi You and Qi Yun being restrained by the entire imperial guard, shouting at Fuya not to drink the wine that will seal her marriage to their dad. ERRRRRRR....

Anyway, I've decided to just sit back and enjoy the series, haha! Ruby's looks may fall short of the role, but she has done a great job in conveying the charm of the character.
