The SNBP (Should Not Be Possible) Feats

Name the SNBP feats in Jin Yong universe. These are feats that should not have been possible given the people and their conditions involved.

I'll start with 2 prominent ones:

-Linghu Chong was half dead, with zero internal energy, sticks out his sword, and "waaahh!" blinds 30 pairs of eyes of experts.

-Yang Guo getting palmed by Qiu Qianren, completely unexpectedly and with full power, and it didn't even scratch him.

Which other feats should not be possible? I'm not talking about feats by super strong sages like Sweeper Monk and Xiaoyao Pai elders. I'm talking about unmistakable feats (so no 80 feet Canhe Zhi or 3 mile toss) by regulars.

- Using the Missile Blocking Form, a user who has fully mastered the Dugu 9 Jians can block thousands of missiles fired at him simultaneously.

This is somewhat a theoretical feat as it has never been seen in action, but b/c JY mentioned it 3 times in the novel so it's reasonable to assume that some user of the swordsmanship must have achieved it. But based on logic, even wuxia logic, it is plain ridiculous and should not be possible.

Obviously, the infamous time-stoppage and cosmos-upending by Tse Hiu Fung and Yin 13 in Gu Long's THIRD YOUNG MASTER'S SWORD.

I thought LHC did use internal energy when he blinded the 15 swordsmen. He ended up collapsing afterwards because he channeled his energy didn't he?

Yes, he did in fact use internal energy.

However, it still doesn't make sense that he could hit every eye so quickly without the opponents being able to defend against him. There's no reason a physical technique should make you faster; you need internal energy technique for that.



With that said, the HIS technique itself has the distinction of being both not physically possible and also not possible according the terms set by JY in the same story. That is to say, a heavy weapon like that should be subject to what YG did using Dog-Beating Stick to a heavy weapons user earlier in the story. YG's arm was literally magically several times stronger when wielding the HIS.

The common point here is both are Dugu's techniques lol.

Ke ZhengE's missle throwing being perfectly synced with Zhu Cong's voice.

Whenever someone eats a poisonous creature that makes him/her 10x stronger.

Whenever someone carves perfect calligraphy unto solid rock.

Whenever someone commands the animals to do his/her bidding (bees,spiders,snakes, giant kungfu birds etc)

Xiang Wen Tian having all those gifts for the 4 Gentlemen (especially those legendary Wei Qi game walk-throughs)

Lord Long and Mu keeping everyone occupied for years with a couple drawings on the wall.

XLN not having to change clothes for 16 years.

Zhang San Feng being able to walk when he's older than Yoda.

Those are typical wuxia tropes and are accepted conventions.

What we're talking about feats that don't really make sense within context.

What?!? I thuoght the 8 Zhang Canhe and 3 Mile GOD TOSS was pretty solidly backed up by the novel's events and description.


Anyway, my list (all from DGSD):

1. Ah Zhu getting at least 10.1 times stronger between the time she met XF at Yanmen gate and her death. She did not do any training in that time!

2. MRF and YTZ managing to tie XF.

3. Ah Zhu disguising as XF!!!!! THIS ONE TAKES THE BLOODY CAKE!!!!

Also, being "the best" in a category in which one is the only representative. I'd like to see the explanation for *that* one too.

Why is it so hard to believe that XWT had those gifts?

Contrary to superficial belief, RWX and his pal XWT were not just great fighters, but they were intelligent people as well. I'm sure they meddle in other stuff as well and acquiring those gifts are not problematic.

I think it was because of how rare those gifts were. Remember when 黄钟公 heard about the musical score he thought it was a fake and was only convinced when XWT explained that it was recovered through grave robbing.
