What would you do?



I saw an old man on one of those power wheelchairs on the grass and was trying to get on the pavement. He was having a hard time and kept trying but did not succeed. Finally he got up and had to push the wheelchair to get it on the sidewalk and then got back on it. I saw it happened as I walked by and wasn't sure if I should've help. A part of me wanted to help but I didn't know if the guy wanted any help and I was afraid of getting yelled at cause some people don't want to feel handicap even though they are.

Wait. He GOT UP and pushed the wheelchair? O_O Am I missing something here?

I would just ask if they need a hand. Usually a simple no would be sufficient if they were ok.

Some old people can walk, but not for long distances and so prefer a vehicle.

Interesting thought though. We have a preconceived idea of what sort of people would use wheelchairs. But we are not suprised that people that drive cars can walk.

Yes. I'm just wondering, is it a fair assumption though. We generally use cars, so we assume people who use cars are just normal like us. But we don't use wheel chairs instead of walking, so we assume there's something different about people who do. Would you agree with that? And do you think it's fair?

I do realize that I over think with a lot of things but I don't know how to make my thoughts more simple.

I don't; I think it's one of the lamest inventions ever.
