Shapur II the Great - only king in history to be crowned in utero: the crown was placed upon his mother's belly.

Shakespeare said women are to be loved, not understood; men should be understood, not loved. Smart fella.

But, what about gay men and lesbians?

p.s. I would like both. But if I can only pick one.... well either one would be better than nothing

    New year resolutions:
    - not afraid of change, accept change as inevitable and a process of growing and learning.
    - willing to let go something so to have place for new thing (very very hard).

Bushfires everywhere this summer. Just learnt that majority of them were purposely lit by idiotic kids despite the searing temperatures. Lots of houses were lost and firefighters also died, not to mention the unaccounted number of wild animals and pollution as a result. Kids were arrested but would likely be let off easily due to them being minors. How did our world come to be like this?

Fire and electricity to a lesser extent have fascinated people for eons. My first memory of experimenting with fire was throwing packing peanuts onto a cast iron stove (the ones that burn shaped cylinders of coal with holes in them). It was just so strange how they sizzled, shriveled and blacken from the heat. Sprinkling water on it was also pretty interesting as the droplets danced, shrunk and became steam. It was almost magical.

I think kids need a safe, controlled and supervised environment to experiment in. Telling them not to play with fire is like telling them to play with fire when the adults aren't watching. Growing up I've seen some kids do pretty stupid things for kicks like throwing lit matches at people or spraying their socks with hairspray and setting it on fire (while wearing it).

Thnaks Darkcser, but reading the news in India makes me even more upset about the world we live in.

On a brighter note, my dog is in love with my boss! Superexcited when I bring her into the clinic.

Been addicted to reading on the Kindle Fire HD. I've had it for about a month, and I've read more books on it than I've had in the previous year.

Charon's Claw, The First Confessor, Theft of Swords, Hawk of May and Elminster Enraged so far. I would've read A Memory of Light too if that had been released on Kindle. Probably bought about 10 other books I haven't started on yet. Maybe I'll add Stormwind Archives or Mistborn to that list.

Also started reading comic books on it. The Eternals, Messiah Complex and House of M. I'll probably read Old Man Logan next.

You want to know who's really boring? YOU are.

Throw in shallow, naive, and self-centered while you're at it.
