It's a shame how so many who can't win an discussion argument would resort to name calling and harsh words.

You'd be surprised how many people are *winning* the argument on its merits, and *still* can't help the name-calling and harsh words.

It's almost as if simply winning isn't enough.

I was wrong to say win the argument, as I was thinking of it again for a few minutes ago, I should have said many who cannot continue on the discussion or argument with any valid point or example would than resort to name calling and harsh words.

The same principle applies, though: some people, even when they have the facts on their side, aren't content with that, but *still* take the low road.

So is there something we can do about these personal issues because I find quite many on this forum here just saying harsh words and name calling to other when they cannot continue the discussion with any valid points or examples.

Not really. If people break the rules, we have moderation procedures we can pursue, but you aren't going to change human nature.

No I'm referring to the Mainland TV Series Thread Swordsman 2012, there is a lot of personal bashing name calling, harsh words going on in there toward one poster.

Well, now, why didn't you call the mods and point one of us to the problem?

Send a Private Message to the forum moderator or one of the Supermoderators (or even SPCNET herself) and one of them will take care of it.

Eh, no...that's pretty much the opposite approach of how we deal with such problems here.

If members have problems with each other, we try to settle it privately between them, with moderator assistance, if necessary. We don't set fires all over the forum trying to get everyone involved.

Because there are just too many to point out that it like someone being beaten down by a group.
