I felt the the first two blasts even though I work a couple of blocks away. It was kind of odd because we were facing away from the blast, and the people on the streets didn't seemed alarmed so we were all speculating on what caused it. It wasn't until I went upstairs to where we had the entire floor open that I realized in which direction the explosion occurred. The smoke had cleared by that time but one of my coworkers had a picture of the cloud of smoke immediately after the explosion. Later in the day we heard another explosion but the building didn't shake like it did during the first two.

Yeah, Boston is in lock down. I was just about to go to work when I heard it. Businesses and public transportation are closed, and people are told to remain indoors as the manhunt for the second bomber continues.

Can't believe that there is another Sichuan earthquake. Its horrible and the rescuers cannot into to help the area due to the bad roads. Would the journalists pls stop clogging the roads and let the fire trucks and ambulances thru pls?

Hope the pandas ran away like last time.

It seems to me that Mainland China has a culture of "ask other people for favors, even if you can do it yourself". Quite the opposite of the American culture of "do it yourself unless you absolutely need help."

The wheels came off the first time in 1988...and what a train wreck it was.

Twenty years later, in 2008, the wheels came off again...and once again, what a train wreck it was.

The year 2028 is still some ways off in the future, but the way I see it, it's not too soon to worry.

I wish I could remember what it was like learning English at first. It's a long time ago so I can't tell you. One thing for sure, learning another language at a young age is far easier than learning as an adult, for me at least. As an adult I think that I think too much...too much about switching sentence structures from one language to the other, translating and trying to make sense of the other language's sentence structure, and comparing the languages. I'm learning Korean right now.

Yes! Target I beat you this time! I waited for a sale on the desk I wanted and got the sale price. Thankfully, I didn't buy it before the sale. In the past, you had things go on sale a week, two weeks or three weeks later after I had bought stuff, but not today, Target, I won! Woohoo!
I just love how you Captivate My Mind

Self reminder - Update blog more often and continue editing/writing for TOV fanfic.

    20,000 people have applied. US$38 each. That's US$760,000.

Alternatively, you can go to space with US$200k each in Virgin Space Ship. And several hundred people have booked. Target to go by end of 2013. Wow.

Some people's "real" lives are somehow less real (or at least less believable) than the fantasy books and films they read and view.

Some people, and their statements, are just too painfully STOOPID to respond to.

One thing I like about Spcnet is when I click on a thread from the forum's main page, it takes me to the last page of that thread.
