Lots of water, enough food, and enjoy nature. Take some photos and show us next time.

Hi SPCNET'ers! Awesome camping experience! There's nothing better than to be one with nature. The park was ginormous! We couldn't find the main river and all we saw was 90% trees. Overall, got only 6 mosquito bites comparing to last time in the wilderness (got a wood tick on my thigh! ). No nuisance critters...but found a snake.

Per wkeej's request, here are some of the scenery pictures that I've took. Enjoy!

    1. Here is Minnesota! (Sorry, don't know why it's blurry. It was sharped when I uploaded. Oh well.)

    2. This is my new friend although it hissed at me as I took its picture.

    4. I've never seen such a bright yellow mushroom before.

Welcome back. We are supposed to visualize the pictures in our head?

I would have run away screaming like a little girl from the snake (and probably wouldn't have stopped until I got to the tip of South America). I'm scared to death of those things, even the harmless ones with no venom and inadequate size to constrict a human.

I saw a really bad 1970s film titled SSSSSSS on TV when I was about three or four years old, and it creeped me out to snakes for life.

Aww...sad (but I had to laugh about you running to South America). That actually happened at camp. As I was taking my sweet time taking pictures of everything that passed by me, I heard screams up ahead (first, I thought it was an animal screaming...lol) and ran to see what was going on. Some of the ladies pointed at the snake on the ground (while others were still screaming) and told me what happened. That is when I got down onto the ground and took its pictures. Later on, we heard that there was a 6 ft snake lurking somewhere close by the headquarters of the campsite. The ladies were scared but I was like, "cool...I wonder how snake meat taste like."

I've never heard of a title with so many SSSSSSS. What is the synopsis of the movie and what part of the clip made you creep out for you to be fear of snakes?

It's actually a bad idea too, considering that the Amazon region is replete with much bigger, scarier, and more dangerous snakes than your little green friend in the photo.

It's odd because I have no problem with any other kind of creepy crawly animal. I'm fine with all insects, spiders, centipedes, millipedes, etc., and even other reptiles (turtles and lizards don't faze me), but absolutely can't deal with snakes. It's Indiana Jones Syndrome.

A trailer for the original film:

The film was followed by a long lecture from my dad about the dangers of snakes and what they can do to a person. I was traumatized for life about snakes.

A hilarious modern-day review for the SSSSSSS movie:

I assure you: the 1970s were a strange time to be a kid.

When it's over, just remember that YOU were the one who came looking for trouble, not me.

At least you can deal with spiders and centipedes. I cannot. Just think about it gives me the shivers.

Thanks for the Sssssss videos clips. I have to say, it was very weird. I think if my mom saw this movie, she would be like you. She is scared of snakes and had encountered many when she was young.

Parents...what can I say? They love to use scare tactics on us when little so we can avoid it when we grow up. They don't realize that it can traumatize us.

You know what I miss about San Francisco? Your trolleys. It is like an old rollercoaster where accidents waiting to happen. Lol. I rode it once to the shore area...forgot what that place is called...Pier or deck with numbers...urgh, LuNaR help me out to remember that place name. It is where you can see Alcatraz and they have a submarine and ship for people to go tour. Lol. Anyways, when riding back, I got scared when the trolley couldn't go up those steep hills and cars were behind us as well. I was like, wth?! Got off and walked my way through Chinatown to my hotel instead
