Such marriages work better in olden days.

Something strange happened: the battery problem disappeared! But I think I better find a replacement battery just in case.

My slight fever also disappeared. But I think I will need to sleep again. My body aches a little.

If you don't mind, I would like to know where you live. If you are from the US, then I think you got in at good time. Here in Canada, I think the market will crash sooner than 2018. If the price of oil keep going down, Alberta will be crashed in the near future.

San Francisco Bay Area? If so, it's a nice place.
Did you buy it at rock bottom price? I heard that price of housing in San Francisco has been going up quite a lot in recent years. In Alberta, there has been lot of layoff recently. Most of the job loss are high paying jobs in the oil sector. More layoff is expected to continue if the price of oil keep going down. The worst is not over yet.

Prior to the big crash in 2008, the unemployment rate in the US was at much lower than the current unemployment rate in Canada. Currently, Canadians are deeply in debt and the wage does not reflect the cost of housing. Therefore, it's not a matter of if but when will the market crash. It will be ugly as we can't walk away from the mortgage like the Americans did in many states did years ago. Most of our mortgage are recourse debt. I can't sleep with something like $400k or more of mortgage. I rather be a property virgin if the market doesn't crash.

Some people believe in the fate thingie or soulmate thingie. I believe that people should know what sort of problems they are up for before they get legally binded into marriage because who knows, it could be a psycho or a scam artist. Emotional distress aside, even getting divorced is not a clean cut matter either so I don't know why people do it.

In some cultures, I understand that arranged marriages still happens due to lifestyle, values and religion. In those circumstances, people have already accepted that there is no other way but to continue making things work with their spouse. So in some ways, people with arranged marriages actually try harder in maintaining the relationship and make more compromises and sacrifices. I don't see it necessarily as a bad thing is both people are happy to stay married to another and they both share similar values.

It won't work in a modern westernized society where people are taught individualism. It is really hard to sacrifice for someone who you don't know or love, when you know that divorce is quicker option than spending the time and effort to learn and love the spouse. For example, it is difficult for a successful woman to end her career be a full-time housewife to a husband that she willingly married, so how much more harder would it be to do that for someone you don't know?

Anyway, getting married is quick and easy. It is the lifelong commitment that follows which is the real difficulty. Whether arranged or not, internet-love or not, I think it is a bad idea for two people to walk into a marriage without an agreement to commit.

Feeling much better after taking some medicine and long rest.
While one problem is gone, an old one came back. The problem with the laptop battery re-appears. Maybe that's life.

If you laptop is old and money is not a problem then buy a new one. Macbook Pro is good.
