Man, what's going on with the world? So many tragedies and deaths going on in the world this year...S.Korea and Phillipines are suffering from too much rain storms causing landslides and more: http://thestar.com.my/news/story.asp...960&sec=nation
Proportionately speaking, the number of deaths around the world per year fluctuates within mostly limited parameters. Other than pandemics and global wars, the attrition rate is pretty consistent...and has probably even slowed during the past century due to improved diet and overall health care.

The modern media, however, is able to report catastrophes and related deaths much more extensively than in the past, so they create a perception of extraordinary calamity when actually, it isn't really that extraordinary.

SPAMMERS! Do spammers have nothing else to do but grow up like weed? I swear every time I delete/ban one spammer, another one grows back in its place. Stinky spammers go away! Spambots/spammers go live your life, go to sleep, go do something worthwhile stop coming into our forums and advertising crap we don't ever want to buy or use or see. Back off! Wild animals in the forest are ward off by flames, what do we use to ward off stupid spammers?

I still think the SPAM will diminish a bit if this forum were renamed.

Where the heck is SC? I don't think we've heard from her since X'Mas.

This is getting scary; it's like riding on a ship without a captain.

Certain people I know, if they're true to their stated principles and not hypocrites, should never even CONSIDER hiring a lawyer if they're ever accused of a crime because, after all, according to these people, if you've been accused of the crime, you're *obviously* and *definitely* guilty.

I wonder what such people would actually do in such a situation.

Don't stay up late enough to have such cravings. It's just your body needing more energy so it asks for food. If you don't want to eat late, go to sleep.

I sometimes have milk and sometimes w/ cereal or tom yum flavored ramen (w/ less of the flavor pouch...too much sodium is bad, so not a lot of soup drinking).

I eat that with regular rice sometimes, when I buy the nori. I saw how ppl do kimbap, they take a food brush and paint sesame oil onto the seaweed --moisting it before adding the sticky rice and contents in to roll up. Ah...you women talk about food at this hour, its so bad. I'm going to bed! Will not be tempted by food!

What is the key to happiness? To be satisfied with what you have or to feed the burning desire to achieve?

Perhaps this book might help you define what 'happiness' is and how to achieve it.

My dog is so fat, but I love all of her to death. Sooooooo cute when she wags her tail and that act alone causes her big butt to sway.

Really want to know what happened to the missing Panchen Lama all these years. China's government has shed some light to it, but, since the info is from the perpetrator's side, I won't believe it fully. This still remains a mystery to me. I've read about him in Reader's Digest many years ago when I was still a kid and the question of his whereabout will pop up in my head once in a while. Yesterday, I heard a radio show mentioned about him and this question came back.

Well, there may be a different key to short term happiness vs long term happiness.

Short term happiness = instant gratification, which might f*ck up your long term happiness.

I think we need a balance of mostly actions that invest in long term happiness, with a small amount of instant gratification here and there, which we also should accept may burn us once in a while, but after all, everything has a price.
