We typically assume that the events surrounding Wong Seung's creation of the 9 Yum Jen Ging took place during the 100-year gap between DGSD and LOCH, but in fact, is it possible that those events overlapped with or perhaps even predated DGSD?
Wong Seung was said to have been an official of the Northern Sung Dynasty, and the events that culminated in the creation of the 9 Yum Jen Ging spanned more than forty years. By the time of DGSD, however, there weren't forty years left in the Northern Sung era. DGSD is said to have occurred around the year 1100 (give or take a few years); the Northern Sung Dynasty would come to an end in the year 1127. In fact, the man who would overthrow the Khitan Liao Empire and establish the Jurchen Jin Empire, Yeun Nan Akuta, appeared as an adult in DGSD...meaning that the end of the Northern Sung era was no more than three decades into the future of DGSD.
That being the case, wouldn't Wong Seung's creation of the 9 Yum Jen Ging most likely overlap with or even slightly predate the DGSD era? If those events don't get underway until after DGSD ends, then by the time that Wong Seung finished creating the 9 Yum Jen Ging, the Northern Sung era would have been over and the Southern Sung era would have been underway. Or did Wong Seung begin his work during the Northern Sung era and not finish until the Southern Sung era?
It seems like Wong Seung's creation of the 9 Yum Jen Ging should predate, be contemporary with, or at the very least, occur only a few years after the DGSD era.
