Lol. In the manga, every guy looks more muscular than Bruce lee, and every gal looks better than Megan fox!

That's great thanks for that! am saving it to read. I am Singaporean Peranakan, so really my mandarin is rudimentary, but with the translated text from this forum, I can sort of figure out! does anybody happen to know the link to any of JinYong's comic version? I think TianLongBaBu has been comic-ized? My mandarin is not good enough to really navigate chinese websites yet.

Can we split this comic/manga discussion off into a separate thread? I feel this will help keep this translation thread a little more manageable, and on topic

    Finished a new chapter. Enjoy!

And happy Mid-Autumn Festival to you guys!

    ================================================== ======
Book 2 Chapter 7 Fish in the Net

    "Plump!"
With agony written on their faces, Kou Zhong together with Xu Ziling, had successively thrown twenty bags of salt into the sea before finally stopping the waves from smashing onto the deck.

Luckily the storm went away soon, otherwise the boat might have flipped over long ago.

Exhausted, the two sat down on the salt bags. Now they've lost the strength to even cry for their loss.

When the sun came out again, Kou Zhong suddenly broke into laughter. Xu Ziling was influenced and also started to laugh hard.

Kou Zhong sighed :"We've lost what's worth for 20 brothel visits. The Heaven is really ruthless."
"Did Mr Bai always teach us to be grateful with what we have?"Xu Ziling said, "Dear Zhong Shao, everything is destined, the Heaven has decided that we would lose these 20 bags, so theres no way we could get even one back."

Suddenly Kou Zhong startled and pointed behind. "You're right, maybe we're destined to be pennyless after all. Now we are to lose these remaining ones."

Shocked, Xu Ziling turned and saw five large ships which just showed up at the bay. Apparently their enemies had been successfully tracing them behind without being noticed. They were only 2 li away from the prey by the time they were discovered.

As it seemed from their speed, they would be caught up within 10 minutes.
The two looked at the Seasand banner on their own mast then the banners of the coming ships, and both boys started to groan helplessly. Clear as it seemed, all banners have the same fish-scale pattern embroidered.

Kou Zhong dropped himself on the salt bags, crying out :"It's over! We're done with our salt business."
Xu Ziling immediately dragged him up and said :"Lets go, or it will be too late!"

An abrupt laughing rose from a large yacht closing up at an incredible speed. Standing at the front of the yacht was the alluring nun they briefly saw the other night. Ten odd well trained strong men were rowing the yacht, sending it like an arrow across the water surface.

The nun shouted :"It's too late to run now!"

Looking at the nun who was dressed in a wetsuit and ready to seize them underwater, they were too terrified to care about the salt before diving into the sea, not having even a second to appreciate her delicate body that could possibly suffocate any living man.

With a flattering smile, the nun cursed :"By my name of the Mermaid, if I - Yo Qiufeng let you two little fish escape from my net, I sworn I would never swim again.'

Then she threw herself into the water elegantly, which compared to Kou Zhong and Xu Zilings desperate manner, was a thousand times better.

Sun rays entered the water like hundreds of thousands of silver needles, turning the blue sea into a boundless realm.

Concentrating Qi at her eyes, Yo Qiufeng immediately caught sight of Kou Zhong and Xu Ziling, who were trying their hardest swimming towards the shore. Their sail boat hung on top the bright water surface like a piece of strange dark cloud floating in the blue sky.

Twisting her waist, Yo Qiufeng shot forth like a gust of wind, swimming almost twice faster than the boys.
Even in Seasand gang, a gang basing its business in coastal area, her swimming skills is still second to none. From this one could tell how formidable she really is.

She couldn't understand how these two imps were able to hold their breath for such long time. Without advanced internal energy, this is simple impossible.
But now she has no time to think about it.
The chief, Dragonlord Han Gaitian had strict orders to seize them alive.

Both boys saw the pursuing nun, but they could do nothing.
Kou Zhong was taking the lead at first. As he saw how fast the nun swam, he knew that Xu Ziling, who was a terrible swimmer, would be caught very soon. He hardened his heart and waved to signal Xu Ziling to go ahead, while he himself turned to face the enemy with his sabre.
Unwilling to let Kou Zhong stand alone against the enemy, Xu Ziling also turned and swam after him.

The distance between the two parties was shortening rapidly.
As they were about to come into melee range, You Qiufeng suddenly revealed a wicked smile. She reached out her hand behind and sent out a huge net head-on at the boys.
As the huge net extended ominously in front of them like a piece of dark cloud, they hardly had any time to react before crushing into the net like two little fish.

The sail boat, just like its owners, became captive of the Seasand Gang. They tied it behind their flagship and put down the sail.

Chief of Seasand Gang, "Dragonlord" Han Gaitian was sitting in front of his seven trusted lieutenants, who had been through many battles with him. Their status was even higher than that of the managers coming from 18 branches around the coastal area.

His dragonseat was set up at the rear end of the ship. He was waiting for the two little captives to be brought forth for questioning.

Seasand Gang, together with Waterdragon Gang and Whale Gang, are three largest gangs in southeastern coastal provinces.

The three gangs used to maintain a very delicate balance, yet skirmishes never ceased to happen.
Since the corruption and downfall of Sui government, powers rose from all across the country. These three gangs also thrived to expand their territory and influence, inevitably causing much more intense fightings amongst them.
The Waterdragon Gang had always been in close relationship with Song Clan in the south, while Seasand Gang had placed their loyalty with Yuwen Clan, becoming minions of the clan.

The Whale Gang seemed to operate quite independently. However their influence was no less than the other two.
The most debatable thing was that since the passing of its former chief Yun Guangling by assassination, his daughter Yun Yuzhen succeeded his position. Since then she actually did a good job, bringing the Whale Gang back in power.

Also known as the Pink Matriarch, this beauty processed even higher level martial skills than her father, earning her a very good name in the southeastern martial world.

By this time Kou Zhong and Xu Ziling had their hand tied behind their backs, escorted in front of Han Gaitian. Four strong men forced them down into a kneeling position, their faces full of depressed expressions.

One man reported :"We have searched their body and the boat. Only twenty taels of silver, nothing else.

Han Gaitian shot out a cold flare from his eyes, "Speak your name!" He said.
Kou Zhong answered: "My name is Fu Zhong, he is Fu Ling..."

    Pak! Pak!
Two whips whisked from behind, instantly tearing apart their clothes and skin. Their faces cannot help but twisting in pain.

Han Gaitian let out a laughter and said :"You're lying. One is Kou Zhong, the other is Xu Ziling. You're wanted by General Yuwen across the nation. Whoever bring you two to General Weichi in Yangzhou will get thousand taels of gold bounty as reward."

Standing on his right side was the prime enforcer "Fat Assasin"You Gui. This man has a ball-like figure, and his eyes slim and vicious. "As fish dies for bait, man dies for wealth. If they were not too greedy to have stolen that much salt, we would have a hard time claiming this gold bounty."

Kou Zhong gave out a apologetic smile to Xu Ziling behind him who murmured indifferently :"It turns out we worth that lot of money. We could get rich just by selling out ourselves!"

"Shut up!" Han Gaitian shouted furiously.
Taken aback, the two boys dared not speak anymore. With a chuckling, You Qiufeng came out of the cabin behind. Dressed in a dry robe, she actually wore a wig on her head with several silver hairpins plugged casually here and there. She flatteringly moved beside Han Gaitian and sat down straight on his laps. Clinging onto his strong neck, she smiled and said :You gain where you lose. This time we let Dongming Sect slip away, but we caught these two valuable lads. You wont lose face in front of Yuwen Huaji any more.

Han Gaitian reached to the nuns voluptuous buttocks and tapped them twice. He lowered his voice, saying:What makes you two little imps so valuable?

The two were secretly regretting now. Having known that Seasand gang was affiliated with Yuwen Huaji , they should have seen that Yuwen Huaji would dispatch the gang members to arrest them on sight.

Kou Zhong relieved a sigh and said :If you promise not to hand us to Yuwen Huaji, we will definitely tell you the answer.

Han Gaitian laughed hard. Look! This lad even dare to bargain with us!He said.

All his lieutenants broke into laughter simultaneously.
One of them, named Spear General Ling Zhigao said :Sister Yo said these two kids could take breaths under water, yet their Kungfu is quite weak, which is kind of strange.

The nun put up a flattering smile and ordered :Men! Let us whipped the hell out of them to find out what formidable internal energy they process!

With the men laughing on them, whips swished like rain drops on their bodies, tearing apart the clothes and skin on their backs.

But the two boys did not beg even a single word.

After they were forced up again, Han Gaitians countenance changed. You do have tough bones. These whips had been treated with venom, normal men cannot take even a few hits. If you answer my questions honestly, we might give you special pardon." He said.

Kou Zhong gritted his teeth in pain, and uttered :Of course we were wanted for a reason. Because we know the secret of Yangs treasure vault.

His words struck the entire crew on deck into a complete silence, and everyones eyes uncontrollably lit.

Han Gaiting gestured his lieunants to make no sound and pushed aside the alluring nun. He stood up and commanded :Let them stand, loosen their ties!

The two were helped up and their binding ropes were cut off.

Their clothes were already stripped to pieces. Staggering blood stains were all over their arms. However despite the pain they felt at the beginning, they now felt nothing serious at all.

Towering over the two big boys by two, maybe three inches, Han Gaitian moved before them and said gently:How do you get to know about the treasure?

Xu Ziling answered :Our mum told us.

Nodding, Han Gaitian affirmed :We knew about this too. The Luosha girl saved you, but why isnt she with you?
Kou Zhong sadly answered :Yuwen Huaji killed her. And thats why wed die before he gets his dirty hands on the treasure.

The pretty nun walked over elegantly and pinched on Xu Zilings face. Peeping at him she said :My chief! It seems theyre not lying after all. It was said that Sky King had tracked down the Luosha girl for a piece of jade she loaned. We were puzzled by this matter then, now we know that piece of jade must have come from Yangs Treasure.

Fat Assasin You Gui commended :Now that these two boys have come into our hands, it must be a sign that our chief truly is the chosen one.

Lowering his voice, Han Gaitian asked :Where is the treasure?

Having claimed back his normal calmness, Kou Zhong flew a few winks to the pretty nun to get a big smile on her face, before saying:The treasure is hidden near General Guans temple in Yangzhou, but you have to use a secret method to open. Otherwise youll never find it.

The nun leaned over and pressed her voluptuous breasts to Kou Zhongs chest, murmuring :Then speak it out quickly, the chief will definitely treat you well.

Kou Zhong apparently enjoyed this intimacy a lot. He groaned with his eyes closed :If your chief give us ten taels of gold, then well help him find the treasure.

Han Gaitian uttered :Ten taels of gold is a piece of cake, tell me quickly!"

Winding her arm gently around Kou Zhongs neck, the pretty nun kissed on his cheek and smiled :Come on, tell me.

Amused, Kou Zhong replied with a smile. As long as your chief bring us to Yangzhou and vow that he would never harm us, we will open the treasure vault for him. Otherwise wed die before letting you know anything.

Xu Ziling said :Mechanical traps were densely laid inside the vault, and the entrance itself lies twenty zhang beneath the earth. Unless your chief could get approval from Yangzhou city mayor to blow down the residences in a 5 Li radius and turn over the land, you could never get into that vault without us."

Kou Zhong continued :If you force us to tell you, what if we deliberately leave out a few sentences? You'll never know. How about we make a fair deal? "

Having a hard time bargaining with the two, Han Gaitian shook his head and smiled wryly :"It would be a waste of talent if you're not doing business. Okay, I will take you to Yangzhou then. But don't try to fool me, you'll regret it."Then he yelled :"Men! Lock them up with the cage in the inquisition room!"

When Kou Zhong heard him saying "the cage" he immediately lowered his head and kissed on the pretty nun's lips and caressed her wig with his hand. Stealthily he took out one of the hairpins and hid it in his palm.
The nun complaint :"You lecherous boy!" Pushing him aside.

Then two men came forth and grabbed them by the shoulders.
Han Gaitian was not a bit relieved then. He personally walked them into the cabin, down the stairs and into the chamber where all kinds of torture instruments were laid. He watched them being locked into the cage safely, before leaving the chamber assured with the key.

Xu Ziling looked at the cage made of bold steel bars, completely lost. Kou Zhong reached over and revealed the silver hairpin inside his palm, saying :"I think Mr Han is a man of his word, we'd better cooperate with him!"

Xu Ziling instantly got it and said accordingly :"Let's just hope we won't get caught by Yuwen Huaji in Yangzhou. Gee, we know the secret of the treasure yet we have no gut to get it, how frustrating!"

Smart as they were, they reckoned it doesn't make sense that Han Gaitian's men would left so soon. They believed someone was hiding to eavesdrop and that's indeed the situation.

Kou Zhong asked :"Did you really remember what mum said about opening the vault? That's way too complicated, but luckily you've always had a better memory than me."

Xu Ziling said :"I only caught the second half of it...mum was dying, and we were crying so hard!"
Kou Zhong chuckled :"Well I got the first half! 'Turn left three times and right seven times'! They pay us big and we should give them the real thing."

Xu Ziling laid down and yawned :"Time for sleep!"
Kou Zhong did what he said and fell asleep soon.

The flagship sailed at its full speed towards the north, where the great river meets the sea.

    * * *

    Suddenly the ship slowed down.
    And the two were awaken.

The lanterns hung at the corners had gone out for god knows how long. Inside this all blinding darkness, they could somehow made out what seemed to be dim light passing through the wall and see things vaguely.

    They felt something was amissed.
By common sense, Han Gaitian would of course want to get to Yangzhou as fast as they can, what was this slowing down all about?

Sitting up, Kou Zhong stroke his back then Xu Ziling's, before commenting happily :"We do have incredible internal energy now. Our skin were ripped open a few hours ago, now it's smooth again."
Xu Ziling murmured :"Do you think there's still someone eavedropping?"
Kou Zhong whispered into his ear saying :"Suppose that someone could make you the emperor without you paying any effort, will you guard him tightly?"
Shocked, Xu Ziling said :"If we were unable to escape before reaching Yangzhou, Han Gaitian would definitely tear us apart!"
Kou Zhong took out the hairpin and said :"Let's try to open the lock first. There're so many sharp things here, coupled with our internal energy, it shouldn't be difficult to bore a hole!"
Xu Ziling sighed :"Of course. But how can we keep that completely silent and unnoticed?"

Kou Zhong moved to the little door of the cage. He twisted the tip of the hairpin into a small hook and carefully plug it in the key hole. Before long the lock was open with a 'tick' sound.
Not a bit surprised, Xu Ziling skillfully removed the lock and laid it at a corner.

Slowly lifting up the steel fence, they crawled out like two dogs.
Now the ship was even more slower, and footsteps of people running restlessly could be heard from the above levels.

They were greatly encouraged and splitted to find for fitting tools. Xu Ziling quickly found something and signal Kou Zhong to come along. Pointing at a hearth which is used to heat up brand iron, he suggested :"If we lit the hearth and heat up those brand irons, maybe we could burn a small hole at the bottom. Then we could saw open a bigger hole with the saws."

Kou Zhong slapped his shoulder as a compliment, and worked out to lit the hearth. Then he took off his clothes and stuff them beneath the door to prevent water from leaking out.

At this moment the ship accelerated and made an abrupt change in direction, seemingly trying to avoid something.

All of a sudden there were no more footsteps coming from above, while some rose from the corridor outside.
By this time Xu Ziling had just put ten odd pieces of brand iron into the hearth. Hearing the footsteps, he immediately hid behind the door.

Kou Zhong also moved to the door and signaled him to strike down anyone who come inside.

There was someone asking outside the door :"Any unusual conditions?"
    "None!"Answered the two other voices.

The first one said :"Here come the warships from Whale Gang. It's truly reckless for her to attack us. Chief had ordered us to guard those two boys well. Fail to do so will be punished according to gang laws."
    The two guards agreed soundly.
    Then the footsteps went away.

Hurriedly Kou Zhong removed the clothes.
The thick wooden door was pulled open and some torch light leaked from outside. Yet the cage in the corner was still hiding in the shadows.

Two men came in defenseless, one of them said :"Light the lantern first!"
The other person saw the burning hearth and paused for a second. Before he realized what happened, Xu Ziling had landed a hard punched at his head. He instant fell, yet Xu Ziling managed to stop him from hitting the ground with a loud noise.

At the same moment, Kou Zhong launched his attack and struck down the other man. He then popped out his head and saw three men at the stairs were looking towards this chamber.

Kou Zhong reacted with his quick wit, greeting them while waving his hand. Then he hurriedly retreated and closed the door behind. Luckily the torch light was not very bright and he made a quick move, the people had not clearly seen his face. Nonetheless his heart had almost jumped through his throat.

They tied up the two men and stuffed their mouths with pieces of cloth before getting relieved a bit.

Kou Zhong took their money sacks while Xu Ziling took their short halberd and sword. Although these weapons were not as handy as sabres to them, they feel much safer that just bare hands.

Xu Ziling took out a piece of brand iron and press it on the floor.
White smoke roses with some burning smell and sizzling sound.
Removing the iron revealed a burning red dent on the wood flooring.

Meanwhile Kou Zhong went to stuff his clothe back beneath the door.
This time Xu Ziling actually pressed three irons at once. More smoke and sparks roses, and the floor became even redder.

Another abrupt change in direction signaled that the Whale Gang had made closer.
And situation seemed to be getting more intense, with all the footsteps and warcries coming from above.

    Pook!
The brand iron burnt through the wood boarding and sea water immediately started to seep in.
Overjoyed, the two boys used the saw to open the hole.
More and more water poured in. Soon enough the water had reached their ankles, and the two captives were also awaken.

Kou Zhong snapped the last piece of wood boarding clinging to the floor and revealed a large triangular opening. Cutting off the bindings of their captives, they dared not hesitate and dived into the sea at once.

The Seasand moved swiftly ahead, and the sail boat that belonged to them showed up on top of them, dropping a shadow under the brilliant moonlight. Only then did they realize its already at night.

Not asking for Xu Zilings opinion, Kou Zhong just dragged him to swim upwards.
Yet when they reached the water surface, they just missed the boat by a small margin as it was moving too fast.
The moment they popped their heads out of water, they were startled by the amazing scene ahead.
The five large ships of Seasand gang were being sieged by ten odd smaller vessels. The two parties shot rocks and arrows at each other, neither of them gaining advantage over the other.

As Kou Zhong watched helplessly at the sail boat that moved further and further away, somehow it quickly slowed down. It seemed that someone believed it was cumbering the movement of the flagship and had cut off the fastening rope.

They were overjoyed and both started to swim desperately towards the boat that holds all their fortune.
