What is the title of Hu Jun's classic series!?!?

Can't seem to remember the title but remember most of the story.

Very sad series starring a young Hu Jun. Story starts off in early 1900s with Hu Jun and his companion girl growing up in a remote countryside house. They are governed by a strict and quite an evil owner of their house who never lets them leave. One day the owner finally dies and Hu Jun and his girl get the chance to leave and enter the big city.

They are both fascinated by the city life but World War starts and Hu Jun is seperated from his girl. From here on, it talks of how tragic the girl has been going through with their son wiating for him to come back only to find out that he has been living a luxurious life not caring about them anymore.
