From my experience with psychics (I have a number of new age friends) and from reading about psychics, what I gather is that psychics received messages, but, they don't receive all messages. Also, the messages they received are often quite vague and not always in clear details. Some psychics do prediction by contacting their guides. If their guides don't want to let them know for whatever reason, they won't know. So, you can say that psychics messages are quite unpredictable. But, that doesn't prove that they are scammers or BS.

I'm saying that if they really could do what other people can't, they would be quickly elevated in society. Like Nostradamus. I can't explain what happened with your examples because I don't know. It's unfortunate if you find my wording offensive. That's how strongly I feel about it, and you of all people would appreciate direct statement.
I reckon for all the times you've heard of correct predictions, the same thing has probably been told incorrectly about 100 other people. We just tend to forget and rarely hear of the bad ones as opposed to the miraculously correct ones.

let me just go back to the beginning: i didn't find how strongly u feel about psychics 'offensive' but the fact that you said psychics are straight-up bullshit. it's not even about me and my experience with the e-western psychic but your general statement of ALL psychics why are they BS? prove it? explain? because you don't believe in them?
i do think some psychics ARE bs who straight up scam people with no ability/credibility whatsoever but i also believe there are REAL ones out there.

quick story..
my dad's hometown is a small rural area where everyone knows each other and there was also a really good and accurate psychic. from the time that my dad used to live there and migrated here, that man have been giving out readings for god knows how long and EVERYONE went to him due to his accurate readings.. because of that, he soon gained significant popularity where people from all over nearby/far towns and cities commuted just to see him. i've never had a reading with him myself so i wouldn't know, but from what i've heard, many people overseas who goes back to visit relatives (like my aunt) went into a reading with him and also had a good experience.
how are you going to question this when the majority of the town/village depended on his accuracy and received good results? surely it can't be all just "luck" on saying the "right" things to the "right" person at the "right" time
be elevated to society? so should he be publicized in every media, be raised on a thrown and have everyone else kneel down?
my dad said that man never charged anyone anything, but people gave him stipends for gratitude anyways. maybe he was just born with the ability to help guide people and wants to stay humble and live simple. should he start charging people a buck fifty for each reading and start building a gated mansion for himself? those who are born with talent can choose to make what it is out of it-- if he got cocky and start thinking he should be a living god, i'm pretty sure that man isn't all that great of a person anyways

again, not about me and my specific reading with the online psychic but don't discredit every single one when you probably never had one yourself. my experience with the online psychics was for fun-- and they managed to take me by surprise by it.

idk what the hell you're trying to get across with the second part of your post about A to B. How is that discrediting logic when someone said something will happen to bytime 10 years down the road and got it right? you're saying that psychic said "someone's going to rape you" to EVERYBODY who goes to him? i'm saying there must be some truth behind the psychic's 'gift'.

another quick story:
my bro went to a psychic a couple years back and the lady said at this -specific- age, you will receive a large sum of money in your hands. she wasn't able say why/how so my bro didn't know what she meant at the time. years passed.. and during that exact age (last year), his house caught on fire and was largely compensated. the insurance paid out to him, something close to 100k, to fix the damages. it was only after that happened that he remembered and wanted to go back and thank/ask for another reading from the lady-- too bad she passed away.
how are you really going to question the a - b connection and say, she got lucky, she probably said it a million times to other people. how do u know that?

I do not believe life is predetermined. I believe what psychics tell you is the most probable outcome of your future based on your current situation. If you change what you are doing now, your outcome will change.

it will change, but for the better or worse really doesn't depend on you. i mean, if a psychic says "u better start treating your mom better" and u go and change your nasty attitude towards her, then of course the outcome will be for the better. but for things like "you're going to be poor until 35", whether you believe it or not is up to you however, there's just so much things that can happen that you can't control.. so no matter how hard you might try, you still might not get it. idk that's how i see it.
and idk, maybe it's someone's fate that they go to a psychic and they end up changing because of that? if that makes sense..

She told me to write down the names... Billy, Bill, Bobby. at the time, i didn't believe her because everyone knows each other here (or so it sems ).. and i was trying to figure out who's names started with "B" but i didn't know anyone at the time. and what do you know, i met someone with the name 2 weeks ago and he is exactly how the psychic described him, physically and personality-wise.. and from what i know so far, he's a great guy. i'm excited to see how this relationship goes since we all know how i'm a hopeless romantic haha.

the psychic skill is part talent and part practise; just because a person has some psychic abilities, it doesnt mean he will know EVERYTHING, just that he's able to detect, sniffed out the trails that most people can't and able to put together the jigsaw to form a picture.

Everyone of us have a tinsy bit of psychic ability but how often do we actually pay attention to our 'random thoughts'? Using that information to put together an event, requires skill. =D

Some of us are just better at knowing what's to come and are more prepared than the rest of us, isn't it?

As for those who made a business out of it, I can't say they are all hoaxes, afterall it's like paying money to get an opinion; you have friends who always know what to do, and those who doesn't. How true their words is a matter of how good is the psychic.

Yesterday, i was at the markets and we accidently stumbled across a bunch of gypsies in huts. So i decided to get my palms read. I chosen the oldest lady as my logic says she has the most experience. She was 87. It was quiet an interesting experience for $30.
I was told the following:

- I will live to 93y/o (wtf thats so old) and die in my sleep peacefully
- I should not swim in open water (ie sea or ocean) or else i get eaten by a shark or crocodile.
- I should not drink too much water or else i get water poisen?
- In the next 28 years i will have 2 accidents (minor)
- I will have 2 operations in my life (related to my ears and throat)
- My 2 past lives: A monk in Peaking, China?? and a 17th Century Jap teacher??
- A new job that i will be very happy will occur in October 2011
- No more money troubles after 2nd November 2011
- I will meet a new girl (presume) in December 2011 and live happily ever after? (so bye bye to my current gf?)
- My apparant talent lies in politics, psychology and a movie star (actor hell yeah)
- I should eat alot of meat
- Odd years are good for me
- 9pm is my lucky hour
- I apparantly am not allowed to consume sweet stuff. (this does not work for me)
- I am not allowed to wear diamond studs or any gold. Only silver or stones. (grrrr)
- I need to meditate once a fortnight.
- Lastly, i should live in a warm tropical area. I am not allowed to live in the cold.
