    That's what he said.
"Anything you can't say NO to is your MASTER, and you are its SLAVE."

"I disapprove of what I say, but I will defend to the death my right to say it."

You know, it's hard to believe 2 years have passed since this lively and thought-provoking discussion took place.

In case anyone missed the lively and thought-provoking discussion the first time.

How do you know that they would be pissed off? You don't represent the whole Mongolian race. If Jin Yong novels are being translated into other languages, I bet some of the population would enjoy it. Pretty much all Manchurian people read Chinese, I bet they enjoy Jin Yong and other wuxia novel just as much as other ethnicity.

They probably do (although some of them might also get a little peeved too). Bruce Lee movies are HUGE in Japan, even though Japanese characters are routinely villains in many of Bruce's movies.

The funny thing (I may be out of date here but knowing you, I doubt it) is that you, the threadstarter, asked such a question having never read a single JY novel!

It's not relevant; I know their general content and, more importantly, I'm not Mongolian, Manchurian, or Tibetan.

In the words of JY: "This was indeed an extraordinary opportunity which no one has ever encountered before, and now with [its completion], no one ever will get a second chance."

Haha I was re-reading the Ultimate RPG and noted that you were just as bigoted as JY :

The eyes of the Tibetan monk cast fear upon the remaining heroes of the Central Plains.

They all thought: "Third Master Pang Yu's kungfu is well-known throughout the realm. Even a First-Class Fighter would have trouble withstanding his mighty blows. And yet, and yet..."

"This monk finished him AND Super Divine Saintly Man Dongfang Hong, both in just ONE stance!"

Heroes of the Central Plains knew they were doomed.

The Tibetan cannot be a friend!

    Tibetans are never a friend!
