No poking Tweety in the eye. I need both eyes to gaze at hot men.
And what's up with the "massacre Tweety" theme? I'm one of the few people that visit this thread, if you haven't noticed. Even if it's just to spam

I do appreciate your spamming but seriously, I am thinking of giving up posting here and post elsewhere. My chosen genre does not sit well with fanfic readers from this forum.

Currently searching for alternate forum. Any suggestions? I want to join wuxiasociety even though it is much more quieter but my wuxia/politics genre seems more suitable there.

Nope, have no idea where the best places to post wuxia stories. But I think the members there would definitely enjoy this story. Give it try, Charby .

Will do it at end of year break! Too lazy now! Going to Canberra at the end of the week, so much stuff to organize.

BTW, maybe I should stop posting my Author's notes and make it a pic section for "massacre Tweety" theme?

Charby, don't get discouraged. My reading list just gets longer and longer, and so does my writing list. I need to find time to do all this. I'll read your fanfic soon enough.

Default Book One: The Fist Of Domination (權傾天下)

    Chapter Thirty-Three:

    Cast of Appearing Characters:

Yeung Ming Hung - Kenneth Ma Kwok Ming
Suen Nga Yin - Natalie Tong Wing Sze

Uncle! Ming Guk! So Sum! Wan Sheung! Lady Suen!

Yeung Ming Hung awoke from a recurring nightmare to find himself in an unfamiliar room. He was covered in sweat and he quickly sat up on the bed. Where was he and how long had he been there?

Did you call me? came a young voice from the door as Suen Nga Yin entered the room.

Yeung Ming Hung never really took the time to look at her before. He only knew that she was beautiful - decked in riches and adorned with expensive brocades. But the Suen Nga Yin that stood before him now was dressed in a simple plain pink dress with white flowers decorating the hems. Her hair was tucked into a simple hairstyle and her hair tied neatly with a ribbon at the back. Small plaits descended across her shoulders, giving her a youthful and refreshing look. Yet, there was sadness about her that was not there before. And her eyelids were slightly puffy and red.

She held the back of her hand to his forehead to test his body temperature. Their skins touched and Yeung Ming Hung stared at her for a moment before remembering that she was the Emperors woman.

He quickly recoiled, saying awkwardly. It is inappropriate for our statuses, Lady Suen! And he jumped up from the bed and searched for his clothes.

Suen Nga Yin seemed taken aback by his action but quickly recovered. She handed him his clothes from a nearby folding screen which he ran to hide behind as he dressed himself.

On the other side of the screen, she asked, You know it is I who have been changing your bandages and applying medication to your wounds these two days right? Its not as if I
    havent seen you naked before!

There was no mirror but Yeung Ming Hung was sure he was red all over from embarrassment when he emerged all dressed.

Cupping his hands, he stated, Thank you Lady Suen for your care. But I have been immobile for too long and I can no longer afford any delay! I have to leave for Gansu straight away to warn my uncle and the other generals. I offer my apologies that I am unable to escort your personally back to your home! But I will swear on my honour that I will do so after my business is done!

Suen Nga Yin nodded at him. Good, then we will set out after lunch!

Yeung Ming Hung though he had heard wrong. What did you say, my Lady?

Suen Nga Yin looked at him in the eye and repeated. I said we will set out after lunch! You and me both set out for Gansu! Those guards have left nearly one day ago!

What guards? he asked, still dazed.

Those guards from Beijing. she replied, They passed by this inn last yesterday night for refreshments and I saw them flash a badge at each other. They stopped for one hour before heading off in the direction of the Northern Frontiers. They said that many more men had set out already! We have to set out as soon as possible if we are to beat them!

Why would you want to go with me? The roads are rough the travelling would be harsh! Why dont you return to Zhejiang with your family?

That is my business! I can take of myself! Are you going to take me or not? she said in an irritated voice.

No! he protested. Taking a defenceless damsel in distress along with him will only slow him down. Furthermore, if his uncle finds out, he will be reprimanded for running around with the Emperors woman.

She took out something from her belt and slammed it hard it on the table. Your horse is with me! If you do not take me along with you, then you will never see your Ferghana Horse again! Yeung Ming Hung immediately recognised it as one of the metal saddle buckles from his horse.

What did you do with my horse? he cried alarmed.

Suen Nga Yin stood confidently before him. I have chained your horse securely in such a secluded location that it can no longer hear you. Kill me or abandon me and you will have to chase after those guards on an ordinary horse!

Lady Suen! he pleaded, This is a matter of life and death! Please give me my horse!

She responded flatly. No! Not unless you give me your word that you will take me to Gansu!

Yeung Ming Hung took a deep breath and sighed. Why was he always surrounded by difficult women? Alright. You have my word! We will leave after lunch.

Good! she declared as she tossed the saddle buckle at him, You have lunch first! Your horse is eating in the stables!

Suen Nga Yin returned to her room opposite his and he went down to enjoy a much needed lunch. A waiter paced anxiously around the entrance as if waiting for someone important to arrive. Yeung Ming Hung swallowed his noodles heartily as he overheard the conversation on the adjacent table.

One man said, Did you hear two of the Emperors concubines eloped with a bandit two nights ago? He was so furious that he ordered all their relatives to be executed!

Ha! The Emperor being cuckolded? cried another, That serves him right for hoarding all those gorgeous women for himself! I heard he just had another lot delivered!

A third man asked, So that is why the Magistrate Suen of Zhejiang was suddenly executed! I was on my way to Zhejiang to meet with him and my associates sent me a letter yesterday telling me not to go! He was always boasting around that his only daughter was a beloved concubine of the Emperor!

Yeung Ming Hung nearly choked on his noodles. Suen Nga Yin was from Zhejiang! Did she know about her family yet?

Then he was distracted by a loud cry. The waiter that has been circling the entrance quickly ran towards the innkeeper who had returned from his errands. Boss, we are in deep trouble! What shall we do? What shall we do?

The innkeeper laughed at him and exclaimed, Calm down, young man! It is not like the heavens are going to collapse!

The waiter pulled the innkeeper to the side and whispered, You know that mysterious girl in the pink dress with white flowers? She asked me where she could buy a long piece of good quality white fabric! Then she returned with a package under her arm!

The innkeeper gasped in alarm. You think. And he drew a line across his neck with his finger. The innkeeper nodded fervently.

Yeung Ming Hung immediately leapt up from his seat and raced upstairs. He could not let her die!

Without wasting time to knock, he burst through the door and shouted, Lady Suen!

All he saw was a white blur coming towards him. He reacted quickly by pressing against the door as the white fabric passed him. But it quickly coiled backwards at him and twisted around his hand.

The assassins must have found us! he thought to himself in a panic as he ripped the fabric from his wrist.

The fabric spun around him like a cocoon, keeping him encased in its soft prison. Yeung Ming Hung found an opening in the top of the cocoon flipped out agilely. But the tentacle now wrapped itself tightly around his eyes, not allowing him to see where Suen Nga Yin was. His hand gripped the length of fabric tightly and then rotating rapidly, he further encircled himself with the length of the fabric and found his way towards the other end where the attacker was.

A warm hand reached out to deter him from coming closer but he pushed it aside and landed blindly in something wet like a tub of water.

Sick of defending himself from blows from the assassin, he grabbed both of his opponents hands. He summoned up his internal energy and broke free from his fabric bonds. Now that he could see again, he wished that he couldnt. Yeung Ming Hung found himself seated face to face with a shocked Suen Nga Yin. She was totally naked.

What on earth are you doing? she shrieked, covering her nakedness with her bare arms after giving him a heavy slap. He was too stunned to react.

Yeung Ming Hung didnt know whether his face was burning with pain or embarrassment. He shut his eyes and turned around in the water. I am sorry, Lady Suen! I am terribly sorry!
He tried to forget what he had just seen but it only made the segments replay over and over in his mind.

Get out! Get out! she screamed at him as she pushed him out of the tub and onto the ground.

I heard about your family being executed and then the waiter said you bought a long length of fabric. I thought you were going to hang yourself! Thats why I busted in here! I didnt expect to find you

Me what she shouted angrily at him as she leapt out for the tub to dress herself. Youd think that I would be so weak as to kill myself. Yes, I am terribly saddened by my familys execution. But I will not rest until the perpetrator Lau Gans body is in the grave!

Sorry, Lady Suen! he repeated as he clambered clumsily for the door, tripping over the fallen folding screen. If there was a hole in the ground filled with the foulest substances, he would have jumped in gladly without hesitation than be in this situation.

But she continued, You think you men are so strong and invulnerable. I will tell you that whatever you men can do, I, Suen Nga Yin am also capable to do the same!

I didnt see too much I mean I didnt see it for too long I mean I didnt see anything! he stammered uneasily as he tried to explain. Even without opening his eyes, he could feel the intense fiery glare she was giving him.

Wait! She shouted. I havent finished yet!

But he seemed not to have heard her words. I am getting out of here! You continue your bath in peace! he cried as his hands felt for the door.

I said wait! And she threw something soft at his head. He opened his eyes and found it was the shredded remnants of the length of fabric that he was attacked with.

She pointed angrily at him, You go out and buy me another length of fabric. You better be back by the time I am all dressed and packed for travel. We will set out for Gansu when you come back! I will not let that wretched eunuchs plans run smoothly!

    Author's Note:

Let's have a quick introduction on Gansu Province.

    $this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://www.rso.cornell.edu/projecthope/othpics/China_Gansu.png')

Situated in the north of China, it has been unavoidably been the site of many miltary confrontations between China and the northern ethnic tribes for numerous dynasties. Sitting near the beginning of the Silk Road, to is an important passageway between China and its north-western neighbours, whether for trade or for war.

Built in the early days of the Ming Dynasty (1372, 5th Year of Hongwu), one of the three most famous and important miltary passes of the Great Wall, Jiayuguan Pass (嘉峪關) is found there. (Other two are Shanhaiguan Pass where Wu San Gui allowed the Manchurians enter to China and Juyongguan Pass in Beijing which I personally reached the peak in 45 minutes of exhausting climbing! )

To invade China, armies must first force their way through this military stronghold before they can attack the Central Plains. Thus, it often had a large number of miltary troops garrisoned there in case of an invasion and was given the name "Greatest Stronghold Pass" (天下第一雄關) for its sturdiness and strength against attackers.

To the people living in the sheltered Central Plains, Jiayuguan Pass was also a passageway to the mysterious unknown to the north. Many people were banished within or outside Gansu Pronvince on the outer side of Jiayuguan as a punishment.

    Welcome back, Mel!
You gotta tell all about your trip. Any Wallace sightings?

Charby is leaving us for a short vacation. She'll be back in a few days. If you haven't already noticed, she's been quite mean to me while you were gone . And I'm one of her few loyal readers too!

Thanks for the welcome, tweety. How's your new job going?

Hong Kong was incredibly hot for the first day. Then it became cooler but rainy. Finally, for the last few days I was there, the weather was good! Phew! Compared to spacious, laid back southern CA, Hong Kong is packed with people swarming left and right, always rushing here and there. I had to keep alert for fear of being mowed down by the heavy foot traffic! It reminds me a bit of New York City, where a lot of people walk or take public transportation since driving and parking are awful. Hong Kong fashion also reminds me of NYC fashion - very urban and full of dark colors like basic blacks and browns. Everyone speaks Cantonese, as are the radio and TV broadcasts in Cantonese. I already knew Cantonese would be the main dialect, but I was amused and dazzled, nonetheless. Simply being in HK reminds me of one big TVB modern drama! Hahaha! I even ate at a dai pai dong (those street vendor places) and they gave us a big bowl of boiling water to rinse our dishes and chopsticks in before eating, just like in the TVB dramas!

Unfortunately, I did not sight Wallace Chung, sweaty or otherwise. (Sorry, it's a private joke that only tweety will understand. ) BUT...a friend of ours surprised us by telling us that he knows the TVB big boss because the finance company he used to work for manages TVB's stocks and finances! Therefore, he's friends with the top people in TVB. I found this out too late in the trip (second to last day before we were to leave HK) or else I would have taken him up on his offer to take a private VIP tour of the TVB studios and watch the stars film. He also shared some not-so-pleasant behind the scenes scandals about TVB... He also said he might have some connections if I wanted to meet Wallace Chung the next time I visit HK or China, as his company manages finances for the entertainment industry. I was so shocked at the offer that my jaw dropped inelegantly. Anyway, maybe next time...

Guilin was picturesque with its green, steep mountains, complete with pavilions at the peaks. Everything looked just like a Chinese painting! I took a cruise down the Li River from Guilin to Yangshou. It was quite cool, as merchants in bamboo rafts would row their rafts up to the side of the cruise boat and ask if any of the passengers wanted to purchase fruit. I bought two qi paos, one from HK and one from Yangshou. They fit me quite well and look pretty elegant! I also bought a huge teddy bear from Guilin. She will be my big stuffed Pooh Bear's Chinese girlfriend.

All in all, a very nice trip, despite the weather issues in HK initially. Plus, the toilets in Guilin and Yangshou are...hmmm....

Face it, tweety. You're not charby's loyal reader... You're her loyal spammer.

Canberra is like ghost town on the weekends. Nearly no shops or restaurants open and if they do, they close at 9.30 pm. Must remember to buy cup noodles next time I am going back there. Nice and friendly people. Good place to relax but a bit too quiet for me. At least I can still go out to eat late in Adelaide.

Melbourne got flooded this weekend. Lucky my places were okay. Terrible weather.
