Shorter Summary:

The Lian Family and Li family have been enemies due to family conflicts. Lian Cheng Wen (Hawick Lau) and Jin Qiu (Yao Qian Yu) married to stop the enmity. They fell deeply in love with each other. Time after time, Cheng Wen saves Jin Qiu, and Jin Qiu uses her wittiness to protect the family. Cheng Wen was accused of putting poison in their alcohol that they sell, and on his was to execution he fell off the mountain. Years later, a man named Scar Man or Shi Jia Men, who was a foreigner, bought the Lian's family alcohol that they made, which helped brought back the honor to the Lian family. Jin Qiu wanted to return the favor by serving the Scar Man. As she continued serving him, she notice that Scar Man looks and acts like her dead husband Cheng Wen. Is Scar man really Chung Wen?

Longer Summary:

The Lian Family and Li family have been enemies due to family conflicts. One day, Lian Cheng Wen (Hawick Lau) and Li Jin Qiu (Yao Qian Yu) were kidnapped. Days later, Cheng Wen was able to save Li Jin Qiu from being raped and they found their way back home. Upon arriving, Jin Qiu's reputation was tarnished, and Cheng Wen asked her to marry him. Due to the family conflicts and her father in jail, she decided to marry him to stop the enmity.

On the day of their wedding, Cheng Wen's younger brother Cheng Yun arrived home from a mission, and he found out that his love Qing Qiu was married to his older brother. With all the complications, Cheng Yun and Jin Qiu had to let go of their love. Learning the truth, Cheng Wen, further himself from Jin Qiu. As time went by, Jin Qiu tried to slowly make it up to Cheng wen and they began to fall in love. Time after time, Cheng Wen saves Jin Qiu, and Jin Qiu uses her wittiness to protect the family.

Pan Hao Tian, the butler of the Li family secretly put poison in the Lian's family alcohol that they sell and Cheng Wen was blamed for the deaths. He was put in jail and was on his way to be transferred, Pan hao tian sent men to execute him, while Cheng Yun also sent someone to save Cheng Wen. During the struggle Cheng Wen fell off the mountain, and was pronounced dead. Jin Qiu not believing that Cheng Wen died, she searched for him all over the mountain causing her to lose her baby.

Years later, a man named Scar Man or Shi Jia Men, who was a foreigner, bought the Lian's family alcohol that they made, which helped brought back the honor to the Lian family. With all the stress, Jin Qiu fainted and was brought to the Scar Man's house and there she asked to return the favor by her being a maid to serve him. As she continued serving him, she notice that Scar Man looks and acts like her dead husband Cheng Wen. Is Scar man really Cheng Wen? Will the Lian family be able to escape the wrath of Pan Hao Tian?

Sounds similar to Qiong Yao's The Ghost Husband, except in The Ghost Husband, it was the maid, not the butler, that harmed the family
Looking forward to Rebirth as I like Hawick. Don't know the main actress though.

Yea this is a good series... Actually from what I read, Rebirth is also based on a chinese book. *note* I'll try to find it

But yea, I Love this drama. I just finished watching it and its pretty good. I really enjoyed Yao Qian Yu. She is such a good actress as usual. Hawick and her are so cute together. Hawick lau makes such a HOT scar man. He reminded me of beauty and the beast.

You won't find me disagreeing about Hawick's hotness
The trailer looks interesting so I'll definitely give this a try, especially since I love dramas set in this time period.
Regarding Yao Qian Yu, I didn't recognize her name at first. Now that I've seen the trailer, I realize that I do know her since I just finished Shao Nian Kang Xi. You're right, she's a solid actress.
