Default When did wulin, as depicted in wuxia novels/adaptations, cease to exist?

At what point did wulin, as portrayed in wuxia novels and adaptations, cease to exist as a distinct subset of (fictional) premodern Chinese society? When did it stop being the easily recognizable wulin familiar to wuxia writers and fans and begin evolving into the modern institutions (e.g. triads and modern martial arts schools) that replaced it?

at 8:35 PM on Friday, June 5, 1874, when the Wulin Director, Miao Renfeng's grandson Miao Qingyou, disbanded wulin, at the famous final Heroes Meeting.

You know, that's really not all that far-fetched. I can visualize it happening.
