He most likely did. DEP (Dr El Pr) is his internal power.
TC to Ken: "You need to watch the ending of ROCH 83."
He did but his DEP was no match for Yang Gor's Sad Palm. As a result, he committed suicide knowing that he has no chance against YG.
He didn't commit suicide; he died as a result of a combination of 1). direct hit by Sad Palm, 2). being bear-hugged by a Chow Bak Tung who wore Wong Yung's soft armored vest, which still bore traces of the poison that had killed Yeung Hong decades earlier, and 3). crushed/burned by the collapsing, burning tower where Gwok Seung had been tied up as a prisoner just a few minutes earlier.
The ZBT hugging him part was removed iirc. He died with more dignity in the latest version since he semi-repented and decided to save Guo Xiang.
I just about died laughing when I saw TC's quote. Talk about teaching your grandmother how to suck eggs! Ken can probably recite half the lines by memory from those 80's shows
Also died laughing when Ken retorted with novel canon to counter the TVB stuff. My world is going topsy-turvy!
Blademaster. Hero. General. He was the best there ever was.
Butcher. Murderer. Traitor. All that he loved, he had destroyed.
Matheius Randas.
That Merciless Blade - Legend of the Arctic Wolf.
LOL seriously. Well done, TC!

I was under the impression that after the Golden Wheel Monk was hit by Sad Palms, he was injured, but still alive...and could have survived had he run away at that point. The bear hug by Chow Bak Tung with the (ostensibly still poisoned) armor supposedly left him in terrible agony and would have killed him eventually, but the collapsing/burning tower ended it more quickly and mercifully for him.
ZBT didn't just bear hug him - he jumped on his back and pinned him to the ground. His injuries, plus the pain of having a thousand needles in the back, prevented him from breaking free. At that point, the tower collapsed, and ZBT darted aside at the last moment while the monk was left buried under it. Nothing about poison in there at all.
