Don't like Twain at all. Dickens I can tolerate (like his Tale of Two Cities), but not Twain.
I'm an "angel on the battlefield of love." *laughs* How ironic...

just finished reading 'The Book, The Film, The T-shirt' by Matt Beaumont. Hilarious. The blurb on it reads, 'a very funny book about very stupid people.' So true.

Am off to look for his other books now...

    'e'

    and

    'The e before Christmas'

Dickens was paid by the word; it explains his excessive tendency towards being verbose, which is an unfortunately habit since it tended to clutter his rather good plots.

Twain seems to have a love-or-hate appeal. If people like Twain, they love him. If they don't, there seems to be this dislike towards his books. Essentially, Twain wrote about life on the Mississippi, which seems to be a boring topic for those in my acquaintance but must have some sort of appeal for it to be popular after all this time.

manga (W Jurietto) - im taking it slowly.

for those who dont know, its about a highschool lad who wanted to become an actor (against his dad's wishes) makes a pact with his old man that if he can successfully convince everyone he is a girl until highschool's over his father will not bug him anymore about his "dreams". so he gets dresses up as a girl, and hes ahem - very beautiful, in drag.

    The Watchers by Dean Koonz

It's a fictional horror/sci-fi about 2 lab experiments escaping from their confinements. One is a very intelligent dog. The other is a horrific beast that kills anything in sight.

I was reading "The Long Dark Tea-time of the Soul" by Douglas Adams, but quit after a few chapters.

I just couldn't get into it like I could to The Hitchhiker's Guide series. Some specific jokes were amusing, but I was pretty uninterested in the plot and stopped paying attention. I'd read the words and just not care what was going on. I have no idea what the story's even about anymore.
    This sig is only temporary.
