I've read Lian Cheng Jue. Poor Di Yun!

Xia Ke Xing's quite interesting. The antics of the Snow Mountain Sect (Xueshan Pai) amuse me, though that probably wasn't the author's original intention.

Books read over the last three months or so:

Battlefield Earth -Say what you will about L. Ron Hubbard but this was an interesting read.

Battle Circle 1 Sos the Rope
Battle Circle 2 Var the Stick
Piers Anthony writing post apoc Sci-Fi... how strange

    The Amtrak Wars: Cloud Warrior
    The Amtrak Wars: First Family
    The Amtrak Wars: Iron Master
    The Amtrak Wars: Blood River
    -Seems like I'm having a post-apocalyptic revival...

    Star Wars The Unifying Force
-I've read all of of the NJO minus one so I had to see how the Vong story arc ended...

Conan The Warrior -Seems Conan is pretty smart afterall...

Martian Tales 1 Princess of Mars
Martian Tales 2 Gods of Mars
Martian Tales 3 Warlord of Mars
-Odd but interesting story about a 17th? century gentleman who is transported to Mars...

    The Stainless Steel Rat
    The Stainless Steel Rat's Revenge
    -More retro Sci-Fi

    Belgarath The Sorcerer
    Belgariad 1 Pawn of Prophecy
    Belgariad 2 Queen of Sorcery
    Belgariad 3 Magician's Gambit
    Belgariad 4 Castle of Wizardry
-Read Belgarath The Sorcerer first probably cast Belgariad in a new light.

    Wild Cards Book 1
-Really sorry to have missed this the first time around. The writers do a very believable job of superheroes in the 1940's-1960's.
HK47: Now do you understand the travails of my existence master? Surely it does not compare to your existence but still...
    You: I survive somehow
HK47: As do I. It is our lot in life I suppose master. Shall we find something to kill to cheer ourselves up?

the book title is "because i care".
I can't write a love song the way I feel today, I can't sing no song of hope, I got nothing to say, Life is feeling kind of strange, since you went away, I sing this song to you wherever you are as my guitar lies bleeding in my arms...

funny thing is, the writer's name is not on the book. he even came out with this sentence at the last page of the bok.

"there's no copyright in this book, all i ask is just not to copy wrong"

    see, that is someone......

I started a couple of books recently, but I doubt I'll be finishing them any time soon.

The Opposite of Fate by Amy Tan - a book of musings about her own life by one of my favorite authors
Treason by the Book by Jonathan D. Spence - a historical tale about a treason investigation involving Emperor Yongzheng

Actually I don't own any of JY's novels, but borrow them from a library.

Still stuck at chapter 16 of Xie Ke Xing for more than a week cos I've been so busy lately. I haven't read LOCH or ROCH (I've only read the comic version).

I'm also reading The Nanny Diaries by Nicola Kraus and Emma McLaughlin.

i just finished girl with the pearl earring by tracy chevalier. it's fiction, but it uses real people as characters. the plot centers around the painter vermeer and his muse. pretty good, but i didn't particularly care for the ending. not that the ending was bad. it just didn't end how i wanted it to. anyhoo, i think they're making a movie out of it.
