odbayard2000 is a guy? Eh???? What does his username mean and how is it pronounced?

I'm not playing, just an observer.

When SS was sleeping in guest house of Huashan sect, cold breeze woke her up. Suddenly she heard a voice that resembled Odbayarb2000. Here is an excerpt of what she heard.

"I wasn't very social person in my Sect. I kept it all to myself, it was probably the reason of my demise. My brothers and sisters didn't even know my real name, which is Odbayar. I would be surprised they were aware of my last name's initial B. I was in apprenticeship with another sect called Yahoo prior to Huashan. It was year 2000 when I first bowed to my old master... "


That's about it hehe. Don't worry about the pronunciation. I think Odby is sufficient enough. My name choice was very bad begin with.

Night 1: Slough off the cicada's golden shell


Yittz sits in his cave studying the wall carvings. Such magnificent swordplay. Who would expect here in this cold mountain, to find all the techniques of the 5 mountain sword schools, including those lost to the ages. Long ago they were allied together against a great enemy. Indeed, this enemy was great, who had completely broken all the techniques of the 5 mountain sword schools.

Yittz studied the sword play dilligently, focusing mainly on the Huashan style and counters to elevate his progress. But now he has found the urgency to study the Songshan swordplay counters. The enemy is close at hand, he must be ready for them when the time comes. It is difficult though, in order to understand the counter to the Songshan swordplay, he must know the Songshan swordplay itself. Yittz has made it easier for himself to just study the counter to the Kirin swordplay knowing the enemy will inevitably use that technique. But he still must have a cursory understanding of the execution of the Kirin stances, and in order to do that, he must know the foundation of Songshan bladework and philosophy.

Finding himself close to grasping the Kirin swordplay, Yittz decides to take a break before he begins on the counter techniques. Taking a walk through the mountain path, Yittz brings his thoughts back to the earlier events of the day, the unfortunate murder of his fellow brother odbayarb2000. Guilt weighs on his mind, someone had access to his sword and poisoned it beforehand without his knowing. This is very unsettling. He must quickly master the counter technique to bring the Songshan scum to justice. But there is still the mysterious pin prick marks left on the back of Banh Mi's corpse. As far as he knows, there is no Songshan technique that leaves wounds like that. Maybe it was just a mark unrelated to the death. Banh Mi was a close brother, they spent many a days teasing the apprentice sisters together. This is personal.

The sound of footsteps interrupt Yittz thoughts. Before Yittz could completely turn a around a blurring image flies straight towards him. He feels a painful prick on his shoulder as he jumps to the side. Had he been a breath slower the strike would have found his heart. Quickly drawing his sword, Yittz dashed backwards until he was in the shadows. Looking around the torchlight two masked figures stand before him. One apparently unarmed, and the other brandishing a sword.

Yittz: "Who are you? Are you the evil villains that slayed our apprentice brother?"

Ignoring his questions the one brandishing the sword leaps towards him and executes the Huashan technique Boundless Falling Leaves. As Yittz positioned his sword to counter, the evil villain pulled back, aware of his counter. 'That's right' thought Yittz, they must have seen my fight with senior apprentice brother Obdayarb2000. This person knows Huashan swordplay, it is definitely a traitor from within our midst. The evil villain thrusts his sword out again, this time using Songshan swordplay. 'Curse! I haven't learnt the Songshan counters yet, this is what I'm afraid of.' Taking a risk anyway, Yittz tried to execute the counter he saw off the cave. But without the theory and practice behind it, his blade was not true. It was clumsy and not altogether fast, but enough to make the opponent take a step back. Yittz decides to take the initative. Even though he hasn't yet learnt the counters, he still spent much time practicing the lost Huashan techniques. At Huashan swordplay, this villain is not my match, but even if they were, they wouldn't know how to deal with these Huashan swordplay that they've never seen before.

Drawing in a deep death and circulating his energy, Yittz dashed forward and started to attack in unpredictable patterns. The enemy was take by surprised and didn't know how to react. After 5 exchanges, Yittz delivered a cut across the villains arm. Before he could press further he felt a breeze coming at him, dodging just in time the second figure who had been studying him all the time decided to attack. The speed of this person is fearsome indeed. Whom previously Yittz thought to be unarmed, he now saw was wielding a needle that barely missed him as he moved out of the way. Now this person was dashing around him and attacking rapidly, Yittz could only fall back on his lost Huashan techniques to keep them at a distance. He would use wide swinging motions to protect his flanks, and utilisation the range advantage of his sword thrust to keep the villain from charging at him with the needle.

However, at the critical moment when Yittz had spent all his hidden techniques, he fell back on one of his regular Huashan moves. At this, the enemy appeared to have recognised it straight away. As Yittz thrust came out, the enemy twisted their body around, and circled their arm around his swordarm and pierced the needle into his acupoint then slashing the needle across his neck. Immediately, Yittz felt his sword arm go numb. Reacting immediately, Yittz send out a heavy palm. Wrapped around his arm, the villain was unable to avoid the strike and was sent flying back. unsealing his acupoints, Yittz advanced on the enemy. Losing blood fast he was determined to finish them both off before he died. The villain with the need is breathing heavily, lying incapacitated on the ground. The other one could barely lift their swordarm from the cut he delivered earlier. At this moment, Yittz regretted throwing away the poisoned sword. As Yittz approached, they decided to retreat, the villain with the sword grabbed their companion around the waist and flew away. Yittz gave chase while trying to slow the bleeding around his carotid artery. When he was down the mountain path, the enemy was nowhere to be seen. At the peak of the mountain, no one would have heard him call. But now that he was near the school, he could raise the alarm, but by this time, Yittz body was already numb, his vision blurred and he collapsed.

Is it going to end this way for me? Before I can get revenge? As Yittz pondered his final moments, he saw a person stand over him. Thinking that the enemy has returned to finish him, Yittz let out a small growl before he passed out....

The next morning, Yittz woke in his room, bandaged up. Looking around he saw medicine on the table with instructions. Someone had saved him... But who?

No one was killed during the night.
