My current remedy involves pinching myself hard. Indeed, pain is one way to keep you awake.

1) Take a walk and help yourself digest the food
2) Chew gum (keeps you awake if you're mouth is moving?)
Usually people experience a dip in serotonin between 3 and 5pm, so eat a little dark chocolate? Keeps the mind alert?

How about just don't eat too much! LOL Don't pinch yourself, what if you get bruises? I find that my big meals are always in the company of friends, and I eat really slowly and talk talk talk throughout the entire meal. :T I can eat more than I do usually then without getting sleepy.

Yeah..I agree. If you eat too much, you'll get food coma. If you eat too fast, you'll still get the same result. It's always advised to eat/chew slowly and take small bites so you can actually feel yourself gradually getting full. And eat so you're full enough and not "I'm too full, I feel like I'm going to bust at the seams kind of full".

Start by not eating a big lunch. Eat light. If you get hungry again later, have a snack.
But if for some reason you end up eating a big meal, go for a walk afterward. That should get your blood circulating and keep it from all going to fuel your digestive processes.

I have the same problem. No matter what I eat or how heavy/light the lunch is, I still struggle to stay awake after.
Drink a cup of hot tea/coffee during lunch.
eat slowly. take a walk to digest. do things outdoor. you get sleepy under air-con environment. don't pinch yourself or you will be pinching rather than doing what you are supposed to do.
