i've editted post 108 and corrected my error. there's no xiwu general present at the pan camp in donghai. here's the correction to that passage:

"Huo Yuan grabbed his spear and gave it a tight squeeze. After hearing how ruthlessly Xiwu moved in on Xiangyangi, Huo Yuan more than anything wished to overthrow the kingdom of Xiwu. He already suspected that Xiwu had ulterior motives in helping Pan fight against Donghai. Once they get Donghai, what’s to stop them from overtaking Xiang? Time…he needed time to come up with a plan to help Xiang despite Xiang wanting his help. He had long learned to be patient. Perhaps he could recruit Wu Haocun to help him? He turned to look at Haocun and gave him a slight nod."

So it's actually an accepted fact that she's dead.

But it's okay if Old Sexy doesn't know. I mean, I think you are right when you said he's a jerk in his young days, and maybe he still is a jerk to a certain extend. He sounds really self-centred; look how he treated Chen Biyu, who's apparently the person he loved the most. And then he had the heart to kill his best friend. Also notice his lack of feelings when the old man mentioned Gu Yunfeng... it's as though the guy was just a passing thought. :X

I dare not think how he'd treat the girls who's got a crush on him and whom he wasn't interested in romantically.

So given how self-absorbed/selfish he is, it is likely he didn't know... and didn't exactly care too much either.

Seeing how perplexed and worried Feng looked, Wu Haocun pushed open the door and was surprised to face Chen Biyu.
