I just watched the movie over the weekend. It is indeed a very beautiful story. However, I do not understand the ending part. Just before the movie ended, the scene shows Tao Jie sitting by the window waiting for Roger to come home. When she saw him on the staircase, she quickly went to switch-off the apartment's lights. Then we see her hiding behind the door and then quickly goes to her room when she heard Roger's footsteps near the door. The next scene sees Roger entering the apartment and goes into the kitchen.

?? What does ending mean? That Tao Jie even after her death, has returned to Roger's home to protect him?
