Default Movie that's scary to others but a joke to you

To me the following movies fit into these categories :

    The Eye
    The Ring
    The Sixth Sense
    Stigmata

I thought all these movies were laughable and not scary at all. I don't understand why people love thought these movies were scary.

Stigmata was silly. Sixth Sense was quite enjoyable.

But The Ring scared the hell out of me. I still get the creeps just thinking about it.

All those Chucky movies. I never ever understood how people can be afraid of that little doll. So why if he has a knife, i can grab a chair and sit that thing down.

The Eye : Not the whole movie, but some scenes are quite scary like the elevator scene.

The Sixth Sense : This movie is not scary at all, but it's still a very good ghost movie. I don't think it's laughable or silly at all.

The Ring : I still can't bring myself to watch this movie, hearing how everyone say this movie is very very scary.

Stigmata : Opted not to see this movie when it first came out because of some bad reviews. Not interested in seeing it anymore now.

I liked The Sixth Sense. It wasn't scary, but very well-made and enjoyable.

The Ring was freaky. I still can't sit through the whole thing even though it's been shown on TV a few times.

Battle Royale was supposed to be scary and gory, but it was all right to me.

Scary Movie - it's a comedy! Why would anyone be scared?

The Ring - it's pretty good I'd say. Japanese version was scarier though

The Sixth Sense - not scary at all. Just a suspense movie.

Stigmata - I actually thoroughly enjoyed this movie, for its brave challenge to the nonsense we like to call religion. It's about time someone dared to challenge the masses of people who believe in blind faith!

The Ring was laughable to me when the fake looking ghost started to come out from the tv screen and when they found a hole inside the cottage.

The Sixth Sense was laughable to me because midway through the movie I knew where the story was heading and I had a feeling that Bruce Willis was actually dead. One of the scene gave me an insight that the way he talked was shot in a way to conceal his true state of physical being. From that point I was smiling all the way until the end of the movie because I knew how the ending is going to be. Also, when the kid kept saying 'I see dead people.' It's so funny to me, I was the only one laughing in the movie theater (others might think differently). This also gave me a firm confirmation that Bruce was actually dead because the kid said 'I see dead people.'

Stigmata was laughable when the Catholic priest actually started kissing the girl and the whole movie looked like a huge, long MTV music video. Nothing to be scared of just a silly music video with not too bad visual effect.

The Eye was laughable when the girl started to see the blurry image of the man in black who always came to took someone's life away. It's not freaky or scary at all to me but funny. It didn't scare me. It was lame (again this is my opinion).

    6th Sense was a joke.
It had a good story, but i dont think it was intended to be a scary movie anyways.

I got one for you... The Blair Witch Project.

15 minutes into the story I almost passed out.... out of boredom that is. I can't see why this movie is scary at all......

I totally agree with you, The Blair Witch Project, imho, was boring as well. Not sure why it was scary to some people. Other than making you dizzy, there's nothing scary or great about it.

You seem to find all horror movies either laughable or boring.

Is there any movie that you do find scary?

I actually agree. There was nothing particularly scary about Stigmata, but it was a very enjoyable movie. It challenges the norm without resulting in being completely insulting. Was this movie billed as a horror/scary movie? I don't remember that....
