    Wow! One more drama with Hawick Lau, since SWAK he becomes one of my favorite actor. I hope that will be a big drama like QSHF or BBJX. Is Hawick Lau the main lead and what is the sypnosis? Thanks.

    Tang Yan is joining and will mostly portray Hai Lanzhu.

    I knew it! I knew she would work with Yu Zheng ever since she filmed "Gone with the Wind". Too much of a coincidence with so many cast of Beauty Scheme(Luo Jin&Sammul Chan&Du Jun Ze&Su Qing) being in "Gone with the Wind. The female scriptwriter is the same scriptwriter as the one for "Hidden Intention" and "Allure Snow" while Yu Zheng is just the producer.

    I heard this was based around another popular "Qing chuan" (i.e. time travel to Qing dynasty) novel, but that since there is a ban on time travel series now they may change it to no involvement with time travel? It would've been really funny though, to have all 3 of the CP3 girls star in a Qing time travel drama...LOL.

    Also last I read Tang Yan is highly rumoured to join the cast but nothing has been confirmed yet (apparently her fans, while visiting her on set, saw her with the script for the series but at the time she was still unsure whether she would accept the role?). Not sure if anything has changed recently though...

    Well I do love half the cast here (haven't heard of a few people), plus it'd be neat to see Hawick pair up with Tang Yan.

    And, omg, I just realized Mickey He is not listed in the cast...are you sure this is a Yu Zheng series?! (Lol, just kidding...I guess lately YSS has replaced Mickey as the actor who must appear in every single one of YZ's dramas? )

    What is with these people taking all these breaks lately?! First Hu Ge takes a break from filming, now Tang Yan too?!

    Ok ok I'll stop being selfish, I guess it's nice that they get to relax a bit and it's just a Yu Zheng drama after all so may not be a big loss for Tang Yan (I was kinda starting to warm up to her + Hawick though, haha), but I just want to see them on my screen more. (Plus I'm getting so spoiled by Yang Mi working nonstop on multiple things at once all the time, lol! She makes me forget that normal people take vacations and time off to recharge... )

    The reason for why the word "Mei" is in the title is because this series is a part of the overall "Mei Rei" i.e. Beauty series. So the series always follow/involves a theme which is beautiful woman.

    Yeah. This series is going to part of the Mei Ren Xin Ji & Mei Ren Tian Xa triology. 王的女人/Wang De Nu Ren/Beauties of Emperor is not part of the triology at all.

    Don't know how legit this weibo is, but this looks like a grand cast. I guess we'll have to wait for filming pictures for confirmation. If Ada choi is the female lead then this series is following the same trend as the prequels with the actresses being born in the 1970s(Ada Choi-1973, Ruby Lin-1976 & Zhang Ting-1970). Also, with the 2nd female leads being born in the 80s(Lu Xiao Lu-1982, Yang Mi-1986 & Tang Yan-1986).

    This looks like the final one of YZ's Mei Ren productions (if the original plan was to film them in chronological sequence) since it's set in the Qing dynasty (the previous 2 being in the Han, followed by Tang dynasty).
    There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.
