South Korean anger at China rises after coast guard's death

The Associated Press reports from SEOUL, South Korea:
Angry South Koreans slammed Chinese fishermen as "pirates" Tuesday, while President Lee Myung-bak vowed to spend more on policing the country's waters after a Chinese boat captain allegedly stabbed a coast guard officer to death.
During a protest at the Chinese Embassy in Seoul, a right-wing demonstrator rammed his SUV three times into a police bus guarding the building while others defaced a Chinese flag. A popular South Korean Internet post called for the shelling of illegal Chinese fishing boats.
The anger came a day after officials said the Chinese captain of a boat suspected of illegally fishing in South Korean waters killed one coast guard officer and wounded another.

China will hand this guy's head on a silver plater to the South Koreans. i.e, He will mostly likely get the most severe punishment possible under Korean law.

Wouldn't satisfy the minority wing nuts, but it will blow over.

Now if he has killed a Japanese coast guard, that would have been bit more messy.

Well, we did end up getting Admiral Yi killed. Now, we've killed a Coast Guard (also military). Why drag it out and prolong bad, old memories?

I thought you are from Taiwan, not China. So why the 'we'?

And nobody seems to be bringing up Admiral Yi other than you. Besides, I thought he was killed by a stray Japanese bullet, not Chinese/Taiwan Chinese. Or are you talking about a different Admiral Yi?

I am from Taiwan. A Chinese person from Taiwan. This "Taiwanese Identity" that arose in the 1990's is not something I identify with.
