Default Wukan, PRC: Searching for Justice

    http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/15/wo...thorities.html

So, folk in a city in Wukan have tossed out their corrupt, local Commie Party bosses. Apparently, they hope that they will attract the Central Government's attention and they'll come to the rescue. That's hilarious to me. The Central Government and their shoddy adherence to the rule of law IS the problem.

Western style media at its best. There is the worst, but we're not doing anybody any favors by just denouncing it outright.

I mean by people who know how to use the tools of those that dispense information to their advantage in obtaining justice against injustices. As the article points out, the people of Wukan are able to watch Hong Kong television; they are more media savvy than the rest of the PRC. The people of Wukan have harnessed Western style media and have gotten public opinion on their side to force the authoritarianist Communist Party who stole their land to compromise and give back some of it to the citizens of Wukan.
