The quality of translations so far have been great!
I've added another wuxia story translation to the index: "Cheat" by Wen Rui'an.
Wen Rui'an is one of the five major wuxia writers of the new school, along with Jin Yong, Gu Long, Liang Yusheng and Wolong Sheng. I guess Huang Yi should be in that group as well, actually.
I believe this is the first complete translation of a Wen Rui'an work, even though it's short. He's tough to translate, at least for me. They're all kind of tough, but none have been more difficult than him. He loves to use nicknames and other than that his sentences are just tougher to make sense of for me.
I have a few more of his stories to post in the coming weeks before I turn to the Ni Kuang novella. After that, I'm thinking about continuing《萍蹤俠影錄》by Liang Yusheng, partially translated here under the name "The Wanderer Chronicles".
Anyway, enjoy!
Another great shortfiction! Thank you!
I've posted another wuxia story translation: "Brother, Lend Me Your Head" by Wen Rui'an. This is the second Wen Rui'an short story I've translated. He sure likes nicknames, and you can see that here. I did I best I could translating them.
Happy reading!
Here's another short story by Wen Rui'an: "Friend, Are You Dead?".
whiteskwirl,
Do you still have these short stories actually? I'm asking because the site http://xiaoshuo.genreverse.com is "poof" gone.
Yeah, that was my site. I took it down. The stories are around somewhere in the database I saved, but I haven't gotten around to digging them out.
