As much as I dislike YZ as producer, this show has got to be one of his best works. Pity there are still silly aspects that are just so unrealistic like when HuanYun tears up the gold origami bird and the sky rains gold specks for like an entire minute. Luckily the lead actor and actress are also good at what they do.

Haha my exact thoughts as well. What can you say, YZ looooves having things float around in the air (i.e. flower petals, snowflakes, etc.) during dramatic moments. It's pretty after the first few times but then it becomes repetitive.


Yesterday's fight was pretty intense! I feel so bad that they didn't get a chance to say goodbye to each other. =/

This show reminds me of TVB's Beyond the Realm of Conscience. I wish it would show little of the other 'departments' in the palace as well...

Huanyun's character is definitely interesting. I love that dispute scene between her and GZ in ep 28. Judging by the preview of ep 33, I wonder if she's really gonna be able to completly get over GZ.

I agree. Huan yun is quite pitiful. I like her character, the way she doesn't care about anything else but Gao zhan. And I don't think she's powerhungry, she really thinks what she does is the best for him although it is wrong thinking, but she is kinda crazy, totally understandable though. And i do hope for her to cherish the kings love soon too. She deserves some happiness as well as the king, even if it's only for a short period of time

I love the scene where Lu Zhen was chilling out with Gao Yan playing with play-doh. Loved how he pulled back the dangly thingies from his crown so he could work better. LZ/GY scenes are actually cute to watch and will have to do since there wasn't too many of LZ/GZ scenes. I think it's adorable how in real life, QRL and ZLY are exactly one day apart in age. And yet even so she looks 5 years younger than him.

regarding huanyun: i think her love for gao zhan isnt healthy...its totally obsessive...i wonder how did she manage to way laid gao zhan in his bedchambers with just her pjs on (see swtaznlaydee's pic)...if only she will realise that Gao Yan loves her like Gao Zhan loves Lu Zhen!!!

It's amazing that both brothers have the same view towards love...they identify the one woman for them and that's the only one that will do!! Gao Yan loves huanyun so much that he keeps quiet when he knows she takes the 'after-sex pill/medication'


is huanyun the same actress who played ling shan in xiao au jiang hu who loves lin pin zhi (played buy chen xiao) but lin pin zhi doesnt love her?? shen bi plays the same scheming character in Legend of Zhen Huan?? darn i think i am watching too much chinese drama...i practically recognise most of the ladies from previous productions...

Yes that playing-with-clay scene was so lovely...I cracked up when I saw GY's headpiece. Definitely lightened the mood a little and the chemistry between GY and LZ is great. In fact, I think ZLY has chemistry with everybody she works with...lol. I do enjoy the side relationships in this story, specifically GY-GZ's sibling relationship and LZ-GY's friendship. Actually, GY is a really enjoyable character to watch - so gentle, understanding, a little mischievous, and so unwavering in his love. Such a refreshing break from all the other evil cookie-cutter emperors who ascended the throne "unjustly".

I haven't watched XAJH but Yang Rong (who plays Huanyun) was the one who married Lin Ping Zhi. And I know Tang Yixin (Shen Bi) was also in Zhen Huan so maybe the answer to your question is yes?

Actually, Tang Yixin was suuppperrr adorable with her cropped hair in Happy Camp. She was smiling so much. The scenes where SB and LZ worked together to find a way to save GZ got me thinking --- I would love to see the two collaborate as best friends or sisters.


Anyway, Shen Jiayan finally appeared! I love his first meeting with LZ. Getting the second-male-lead syndrome already, and he hasn't even been onscreen with her for more than 20 minutes.

I guess tang shiyi plays those scheming characters really well sInce they cast her. Its funny how yang rong gets to play character that loves chen xiao twice and still not get the guy!

Shen jiayan looks so cute when he smiles after removing the "dirt" off u zhen....but I expect hiS first meeting with Lu Z hen to have More impact ...

My thoughts exactly!! Finally had a chance to catch up and wow his character. Perhaps it's since I'm just naturally drawn to the reticent type, but he immediately captivated me. Can't wait to see more of his scenes!

Shen Bi's ending is quite sad. Empress Dowager Lou is going to use her like a piece of chattel and marry her off to some foreign lord in the western region for political gain. And she will sacrifice her life to save Gao Zhan.
