"We are in the land of the blindfolded
we cannot see what is going to happen
we can only wait for the future and what it brings"
Hello all. After much lurking, I have finally decided to input my 2 cents worth!! I just watched a good one last night... a MUST watch...
Thai Film (Horror/ Ghost) called "Shutter". Anyone else seen it?
I can also recommend another called "The unborn". Out of all the Thai horrors I've seen, these two definitely rank the highest (although they seemed to have borrowed alot of the pale-long-stringy-hair-heavy-on-the-eyeliner-female-ghost from the Japanese. I suppose a decent-looking-clean-shaven-man-ghost just doesn't have the same effect!! )
Shunji Iwai movies - Love Letter, Swallowtail Butterfly - all great.
Juzo Itami - Tampopo - a great movie about food and sex - that always goes together to make great movie subject.
Ok, here's a more detailed info about 2LDK, the Japanese whacky thriller.

The story revolves around two roomates who are trying to get casted for the same role in a movie. Each roomate has a different personalities and apparently had some clash before in the past, but when it is clear that they're competing to get the same role, they hated each other even more. From one simple grouchy attitude toward each other, their conflict leads to physical violence, from hardcore women cat fight, destroying each other's possessions, drowning, leading to killing each other in the most bizzare duel-to-the-death confrontation inside the apartment, read : chainsaw and electricution.
A most see for movie lovers, you'll never see anything like it
Here are some pictures from this movie.

Japan movies:
Space Travellers (movie is not new but it's so original!!)
Azumi (a very cool movie! The movie is about the samurai era)
Azumi 2 (well, it's a good movie but not as good as the first one..)
Korean movies:
A moment to remember (plot-wise is not original but somehow the acting n chemistry of the two lead actors n actress r sure to make u cry a river)
Spy girl (the plot is pointless but it's just a fun movie~ hehe..)
Windstruck (same thing as spy girl, a fun movie without a meaningful plot)
Hey nobody mentioned a moment to remember? (edit: oh, someone did..)
And bayside shakedown 2 is not bad too..
Bittersweet Life - coolest korean revenge movie ever....
Yes, Bittersweet Life is one of the best Korean Movies in 2005.

I've seen this movie and I really like it. I don't normally watch that many horror movies (cas they give me nightmares) but because I really like The Eye, and everyone was raving about this movie I gave it a try. And discovered that I really liked this movie. I've seen Japanese horror like The Ring, but okay it was scary (actually more disturbing) but after finishing the movie I didn't really understand it. But Shutter was good in their storyline, everything just gel together, the ending scene where you finally understand why the main guy always had a sore neck was quite a powerful scene but it was like the final twist to the movie.Originally Posted by fluffinduffin
I really recommend this movie if you haven't seen it yet. This is one of the better Thai movies.
