JSA is one of the best Asian movies I've ever seen in a long time. Its intensity surpases all the great Hollywood war/military drama classics such as A FEW GOOD MEN or Rules of Engagement.
It's cinematography is flawless especially during the first stand off scene between the North and the South Koreans during the snowy day and when they first found each other in the grass field. The ending and the climax scene also gave you one of the most intense moment in any moving picture history.
The story is deep and complex. You can really feel how the two sides of Korea feels and think about each other. It is also an excellent friendship saga. The only arguing weak point is the English speaking actor/actresses.
Get it if you can.
