OMG! I’ve just return after spending 8 hours at school writing tests, only to find out all this OTP awesomeness! Best reward for passing a test ever! I’m absolutely amazed and moved by the performance of both actors, particularly LSS really made a huge step foward in her acting. I dare anyone to call her acting bad or lackluster after watching these two sneak peeks because she completely nailed it! This is exactly the type of angst I love in my dramas - short, solved by communication, strenghtening the relationship, followed by utterly heartwrenching hurt/comfort. Basically, those two scenes are the stuff of my dreams. I just can’t wait until I get to these two scenes in my SOTD reviews (which will happen somewhere in spring 2015 and that’s if I’m lucky) and literally disect it - every nuance, every sideway glance, all that longing and desperation. In both these scenes both WJ and XY and their deepest emotions are laid bare, there are no more secrets, no more unsaid things, no restraint: brutal honesty, desperation, need, all the vulnerability and raw emotions.
I mean, the panic fear, gutting torment and sheer anguish as WJ tells XY they shouldn’t have anymore children because no one, NO ONE is more important to him than her. It’s like she was his lifeline, the one thing he keeps living for; like the mere thought of a world without her would be unbearable. I suspect that if she died during that childbirth he would have followed her to the grave. And the desperate way XY clings to him like he was the cure to her pain; like only in his arms everything would be alright again as she begs him to never leave her again. I think that what XY and WJ feel for each other has long ago passed the definition of love, affection, want or longing - this is sheer, unadultered NEED! Somehow along the way, they have become to each other more important than the air they breath and when they are together they live in a world of their own where nothing exists but them. I think that in all the Asian dramas I’ve watched I have never witnessed so much desperation as I did in this scene and it’s perfect. Even the music choice, the sublime Lament of White Hair by Della Ding, gives it such a heartfelt atmosphere.
And the scene where XY reveals the truth about their son to WJ! MY FEELS! That utterly shocked, anguished expression on his face; it’s as if all the self-blame he’s been putting on himself actually doubled at the mere thought XY risked her precious, fragile life to save their child, only because he was unable to protect her despite swearing to shield her from everything on her father’s grave. The failuere to fullfil the promise, to be rendered so utterly helpless, must be utterly gutting for a powerful, proud man like him. It’s not because of his pride but because this is the one woman, the one person he can’t live without in this world, and he came so close to losing her forever, because the only opponent, the only enemy not even the Great General Wei Wuji can’t defeat is death. To realise that she threatened her life this much causes him so much anguish and EP is perfect because it’s like he’s dying inside just by imagining the possibility. The best thing about that scene is that all that anger, all that rage is directed at himself because he sees it as his fault that XY needed to resort to such desperate methods - it’s as if you could read his thoughts - “If only I was there to protect you, nothing of it would happen…”. WJ’s final agonized plea, he is literally BEGGING HER not to do something like that ever again, killed me!

@ myenson1 - Thanks for sharing! I have been searching youtube for these previews and failed. I'm so glad WJ and XY will reunite in episode 31 and not 32. 1 episode of WJ is not enough for 7 days wait. I need at least 2 episodes.

AAAAHhh really love WuJi XY scenes.....How much he loves her...He's totally understand XY very well...Even when she was still in dilemma between JY and WJ, he's also waiting for XY to come back to him....just keep all his sadness and anger. But at the end, he's welcoming XY...never leave her....AAAAAHhh...Wuji wuji....

I have no mood to watch other dramas other than eddie peng related while waiting for next episode of SOTD to come. HAHAHA oh man, seriously i'll miss General Wei WuJi and XiaoYou once this drama end. Honestly I have no interest with the other characters, maybe only Jiu Ye, feeling sympathy for him. The rest character just so so to me. Especially the evil characters.

right now i already feel so sad , only 8 episode and it will end... love this drama so much and will forever live in my heart . I like BBJ also but this drama is much better because it have a happy ending ... i hope they will have another project again in the near future.. the 1st episode, i fall in love with eddie peng , he is so cute and his attitude of being proud and arrogant suit his looks , he play very well as WWJ. Will gonna miss him, i hope that he will do another drama series instead of movies

Screencaps from episode 29: I'm missing WWJ! XY is in the prison while MX fights to free her and the dancing girl recognizes him as the famous healer from Da Mo. XY gets poisoned and evryone os worrying for her. I'm so happy to see RC again, he is the nest best thing when WJ is 1000 miles away! I love the OTP moment with his dancing girl!(I seriously need to remember her name!)
