The closest that HG and LSS ever got to each other in the series was when the whole family were eating dinner together at a snuggly tight table, and HG and LSS were sitting right next to each other.

I'm looking forward to Hu Ge's Meng Jiu. He's such a dedicated actor (learning how to play a flute, that's awesome ) and it'll be interesting to see how many tears he can wring from us

This is a bit freaky, since my mom and I had this conversation the other day (after seeing the Da Mo Yao photos in this thread) and it was the same as this almost word for word! My mom couldn't believe Eddie was older than HG and I was like "yeah, Eddie looks at least 10 years younger!"

Can't agree more! One of my favourite ancient series of all time and loved qi lang in it! Thinking back...this also reminds me of how far LSS has come! In young warriors I didn't care for her at all and thought she was just some talentless liu yi fei look a like...but now she's one of my fave young actresses!

There was quite a lot of debating between HG and Karen (about whether or not to act as MJ).
During Young Warriors, I wanted to act as Yang Si Lang, but then had to act as Liu Lang. In LOCH, I wanted to be Yang Kang, but instead acted as Guo Jing. I've always lost to Karen, but this time I persisted in my decision to be Meng Jiu, and finally won. When I read books, I favour those which are quite '虐/heart wrenching/extremely sad'. I was quite curious about Jin Yu's fate, because I've read "Emperor Wu of Han", and wanted to know how Tong Hua described history from a 'side view'.

So happy HG is able to get the role he wants this time! I've always thought that his acting was limited by the fact that he tends to get typecasted in similar roles. JY is pretty different though, and I'm really looking forward to his performance.

I noticed that HG looks a lot older in the presscon photos too! I don't think this is a bad thing at all though...he looks so much more mature now. Before he always had this pretty boy image, which isn't very suitable for a wide variety of roles, but now he looks a lot more rugged and I think that can really help him expand as an actor...maybe into more modern dramas/movies? Though I love Eddie and I'm pretty sure he'll be able to pull of HQB spectacularly on screen, he still looks a bit too baby faced in photos (with his shirt on) to be the HQB I've always imagined.

I understand why they wouldn't like it, but I still think some people are exaggerating Tangren's "terrible crimes" a bit too much. Besides, I don't think playing HQB would raise HG as an actor more than MJ would, especially since he's done roles like HQB before.

Totally agree! To be honest I've never been a big fan of HG as an actor because the characters he play are so similar and never really leave a lasting impression on me. I find him to be much more interesting in real life lol. Taking on diverse roles that are more challenging (rather than being the main lead) is what'll help get him recognition as an actor. I mean HG has been the main lead for so long yet I haven't seen a lot of improvement acting wise. Eddie shot to stardom because he took the role of ashin, which is challenging and v. different from what he usually does. I also recently came to like FSF after seeing him as xiang yu in white vengeance. I think the role of MJ will really let HG shine as an actor and prove himself.

Well, Eddie-LSS-HG is a far better casting than the rumoured cast of Yu Mama's sequel Yun Zhong Ge/Song In Cloud:

Yun Zhong (main girl) - Yuan Shan Shan
Du Chun - Meng Jue
Qiao Zhenyu - Emperor Liu Fuling

And Meng Jue is supposed to be 21?!!! Du Chun looks even older than Nicky Wu.

This makes me want to cry it's so bad D':....especially Yuan Shan Shan as Yun Ge. I wish tangren could just film yun zhong ge.
