I agreed sticking to the Wuxia theme is important, otherwise we don't call it Wuxia. I don't think YZ is that stupid to make this drama a tragic romance (well, unless he's thick head but unlikely). He's the only scriptwriter after all, there are other people who can influent the script, including the artistes themselves, the director and the producers. Generally artistes play a key role in how to interpret their plays (particularly Wallace as he may suggest to change the script from time to time).

I don't think this version is comparable to those older versions (and someone confirmed that, see below). What's the point of making a new version based on exactly the same old versions? It's safer to be a copycat but the show biz is a risky game. Besides, they might draw ever more bad comments by copying the older versions. When brigitte Lin played DFBB, I'm sure there were lots of drawbacks but ironically it has become a classic.

Someone has already finished reading the whole script. A fan wrote him a private message and the reply was there are fresh ideas in the script.

I'm not asking for a complete copy cat NO. but I'm asking for traditional value and ancient mainland characteristics which most series these day lack. Seem like the only one that can make that stand out is Zhang JiZhong.

Seem like the filmmaker is just going to woo and amuse us with the hot girl/guy actor/actress. There's more to this that I cannot stress enough of but yeah

Actually, with the trends these days, these producers will make whatevers they want whenevers they want (just count how many repeats of Yongzheng stories, Wu Zetian stories, Xiang Yu/Liu Bang stories have come out in the past 2 years).

Plus, isn't there already a Han Xue version in production somewhere? Or did that get put on hold?

Er...what exactly are these "traditional value" and "characteristics" that you refer to? Frankly, I don't really enjoy ZJZ productions. Lots of special effects and great cimetography, but his stories tend to run dry and lack soul. Of course, not that YZ's cheezy dialouge and rushed (often cheap looking) productions are any better.

And hey, if I'm going to spend time staring at a screen for 30 hours, it better be one smoking hot screen

I just googled her and she was born in 1976, only 3 years older than Wallace, Gosh and yet she plays a 40 something lady. This is maddening, they will say that LHC is looking older than his martial mom. Why can Yu Zheng find someone a bit older for god shake.

I don't think it matters she looks young. MDM yue has good martial arts skills and inner energy to keep her youth exteriorly

Have you fully watch Zhang Jizhong production of Three Kingdoms and Water Margin? You will understand what I'm talking about if you do.
Run dry lack soul? Man there's all kind of brotherhood, friendship, and traditional values. Just look at liu bei, guan yu, and zhang fei in 1994 three kingdoms.




Most of the one that are being repeated are mainly because they are of traditional value and it's part of the culture of the mainland that is dying out because so many kids these days don't care or want to learn about their own history. I say more three kingdoms. more water margin. more chu han story. more journey to the west. less boring fashion show.

Not really sure what you're talking about. I'm pretty sure most of these kids are FORCED to learn their history and classical stories through something called "school", whether they want to or not. The series are repeated over and over again because the stories are popular already, not because they want kids to learn the story/history

From the book LHC's costume is never beautiful nor elegant, as he describes himself as a beggar and compares his with LPZ's clothes when they travel to LPZ's maternal grandfather's house. So I am expecting LHC similar to Ge Xiao's.
