    If this is true, YEE-HAAAA!

But somehow, the story would need to be rewritten so that Hui Mun Keung is an older gangster in his late fifties/early sixties rather than a young gangster who died before the age of thirty.

It won't be the same, especially under the direction of a different director, script, screenwriter, 32 years can change an actor's portrayal. Seriously, Shu Qi as his love interest in this film? You gotta be kidding!

I wonder if Chow's character will even be named "Hui Mun Keung." Two years ago, he did the movie SHANGHAI with Gong Li and John Cusack, and although Chow's character somewhat resembled Hui Mun Keung, that character was named "Anthony Tan."

Well said. Chow Yun Fat was the mold in the injection 30 years ago. He was young, charming, tokenizing. Yet he lacked the viscosity of his rival, the immaculate George Clooney, who brought tears to the eyes of millions. It took Chow Chow 10 years to realize this, by which time it no longer mattered: the damage had been done. The viscosity had melted, the screwed injected, and the temperature evaporated. There won't be another like him.

    LOL, that was cute PJ.

Well....nothing beats the original. Though he's still cool, I don't think I can swoon over him now versus in the original.
