Default A random discussion: will you pick her up?

Imagine you are a father with a daughter in her early 20s. One day the two of you quarrelled and it led to a cold war in which neither of you spoke to each other for days.

Then one night, at about midnight or after, your spouse received a call from the daughter, asking that YOU pick her up at the local train station because she didn't want to walk home alone at night.

    Will you do that?

I think this has happened to me before but not quite to that extent.

Either of my parents would come pick me up, I have faith...well more in my dad than my mom.

I would pick my child up because I live in a bad part of town.
    I like me.

I'd tell her that I'll pay for a taxi. She's not in her teens anymore

I'd pick her up. She's still a girl after all. But I'll make sure to remind her about the danger of going out late at night I'm still her dad. Whether she likes it or not, she will be sitting next to me on the car so she has no choice but to listen

Mwahahaha. Good tactic for cornering her.

I'd pick her up.. Just to make sure she was safe, but I'd put the child lock on every door except for the driver's side door so she can't escape and then discuss the issues that caused this.. 'cold war' thing in the first place.

There must be a reason why she asked ME, instead of my spouse, to pick her up. Maybe she wanted to talk. I would probably do it.

I wouldn't have let the feud drag for days.

If the daughter left the house after an argument and later that night asked for me to pick her up I'd do it.
If it was any other time it wouldn't necessarily be me but either I'd go, or I'll send the wife, son, another daughter to go. But someone who I know would be able to drag her home.

Blood is thicker than water. The answer is obviously "YES". However, I will stay quiet while we are in the car and won't talk about it when we get home that night. I want her to have a good rest and calm down. Me, my wife and her will talk about the situation the next day.
