@ByTme - I agree with you. Actually in my heart, I'd still cast Yan Kuan for this main role. I'm not sure how Feng Shao Feng would look in this role, he's not exactly the extremely handsome type that I imagine Lan Ling to be. China has Four Beauties, but they also have 4 Handsomest Men in history too. This would be an interesting story, but FSF has to have really good costume, makeup and really convince me with the facial expressions to fit the character. I just don't see it now. No, on second thoughts Yan Kuan or Yuan Hong would look better in this role.

yay! I'm excited for this because of Ariel (by the way, on the title, its Ariel Lin right? not Ariel Chen?). Although I'm not a fan of FSF, I think they'll have a good chemistry onscreen

Yeeaah, dont kill me but FSF is not handsome enough(To Me) to be playing the most beautiful General (Sorry). Im biased so Im gonna have to go with HG, YH or YK and WH for the most beautiful men but Im still looking forward to watch this for ariel..... Daniel Chan should of been the lead but I guess, he was handsome in his younger years....

IMO, dreadlocks looks good on Yuan Hong. HG XYJ dreadlocks I didn't really like it, and FSF doesn't look really good with it too. However years back then, Yang's Heroine the guy who pair up with Carmen Lee has dreadlocks too, he look pretty good with it as well.

FSF doesn't exactly very handsome I agree too. Because what's attractive is his acting and the way he bring up himself. If this role needs to be a very good looking guy I would really think Yuan Hong, Hu Ge, Wallace Huo, Hawick Lau could go with.

But this drama seems very attractive with the casts, it has promising acting and the story seems interesting as well.

Yuan Hong is also very handsome and can do tough and warrior like while being handsome at the same time---he was the hottest guy in Young Warriors...along with He Jian Ze as Pan Bao lol

The thing about FSF is...sometimes...he can look a bit *greasy. I am sure he is a nice guy and all...but lol there is a distinct lack of "beauty essence" or "beauty character" in his good physical appearance. You know, like the difference between someone who is pretty versus someone who is beautiful? He is short of it in action but looks good in pictures...that have been photo shopped.

I don't think Hu Ge is exceptional looking, just good looking or better than average and only sometimes haha

I think both Wallace Huo and Wallace Chung are fine lookin' men.

Mike He and Jerry Yan are certainly pretty enough but their acting is inconsistent.

I think the Korean actor Jung Il Woo from the Return of Iljimae is super attractive lol but yea wrong country

I had to stop and think who ^ was. That's a beautifully shot image/look. It makes me want to watch the drama. With that expression, I don't care if FSF was short side of ugly (which he definitely is not). If I had to choose, I would rather a character with substance than with looks. Both is ideal, but rare methinks.

I like flawed characters - Lan Ling doesn't seem very flawed to me. Unless beauty and talent is a flaw - with a smart scriptwriter, I really think they can made to be so.

Yeah, the more I look at Yan Kuan's pictures with his long following hair and mesmerizing eyes and sexy eyebrows, and acting chops to back it up. I would be more willing to believe him as Lan Ling than FSF. Feng Shao Feng is handsome in his own way, but he's like the cute boy next door compared to an extremely handsome man.
