Are these "free" novels on Android legal?

I just entered the world of Android apps, and have been keying in everything under the sun into Google Play to see what comes up. Inevitably, wuxia found its way there too, and I found quite a few wuxia novels there for free. For example, Ode to Gallantry is at :-

Are these legal to download (not from a Google Play point of view, of course, since they have all kinds of stuff there, but from a Jin Yong point of view), does anyone know?

Hi Ian. Have you managed to find out whether it's legal or not? I've also just entered the world of Android apps recently and found many wuxia novels compilation in Google Play but have not downloaded any yet.
