Default People who are adept in both the wulin and military ways of fighting?

In wuxia fiction, the wulin-style of fighting and the military-style of fighting feature many differences that make for awkward matchups when wulin warriors (either as dominant individuals or in comparatively small, poorly coordinated groups) battle vast armies of soldiers (who are individually unremarkable as combatants, but through their superior numbers, strategies, and battle formations, can sometimes defeat even the most formidable wulin adepts). During some such encounters, the wulin people win out (especially when there aren't enough soldiers or if the wulin warriors are especially powerful or use at least a modicum of strategy and tactics themselves); on other occasions, however, the military forces win. It can go either way, depending on the specific circumstances, but it's *always* an awkward matchup for both sides because of the disparate kinds of fighting they do.

Are there individuals in wuxia, however, who are adept at *both* the wulin-style of fighting and the military-style of fighting and can effectively switch between the two? I think that characters who are both wulin and military men, who on the high end would include individuals such as Siu Fung (as a Khitan general) and Gwok Jing, and on the low end would include individuals such as Yeung Teet Sum and Gwok Siu Teen, could operate effectively in both combat styles.

Chen Jinnan and Shi Lang from the Deer and the Cauldron. Both of them are martial art masters and generals.

Wong Chongyang was said to have led armies into battle against the Jins before he founded Quanzhen.
