Default What do you think happened to Ma Gwong Jor after his last appearance in ROCH?

The battle among the Mongol mercenaries, the Cheun Jen Sect Taoists, and Yeung Gor and Little Dragon Girl at Chung Yeung Temple was the last appearance of Ma Gwong Jor in ROCH. Thereafter, Ma never appeared again, nor was he mentioned.

Ma Gwong Jor was a minor, but interesting character from ROCH. He was one of Yeung Gor's few friends who wasn't an elder/Great or an attractive young girl. Yeung Gor seemed to genuinely like this crudely skilled, but friendly and brave goofball, and even made sure that he didn't get killed by Gwok Jing when the Mongol mercenaries fought Gwok.

What do you suppose happened to Ma Gwong Jor after he stopped appearing in ROCH? Do you imagine he was still alive after the sixteen years of Little Dragon Girl's disappearance? Would Yeung Gor (as the Divine Condor Hero) have recruited Ma Gwong Jor as an ally to help him fight the Mongols? Yeung Gor did recruit some old friends and acquaintances (such as Passionless Valley's Fan 1 Yung) to help him fight the Mongols, so I wonder if he might have recruited Ma Gwong Jor if they ever met again.

When Ma is last seen, YG gave him the advice to stop serving Mongolian empire. It ended upbeat with him walking down the mountain happily, so I'd like to think that was the path to his future. Can't see an upright guy like him serving an "evil" empire anyway.
TC to Ken: "You need to watch the ending of ROCH 83."

Ma loved adventure, though, so I can't see him just "retiring" at that point either. I'm surprised he didn't join up with Gwok Jing's defenders at Seung Yeung, or ended up as one of the Divine Condor Hero's "merry men" of traveling do-gooders later on.

Perhaps he just wasn't good enough? Yang Guo liked him a lot and wouldn't want him getting killed while contributing peanuts to their cause. Better to let him be a happy daxia in some remote village area where his limited ability can still be utilised to do good for the people around him.
