I don't know if we can use Qin Yu and Xiao Hei as the norm for the Xiuyaoist way though. He has probably the most powerful technique and cultivation methods ever created, the Meteor Tear (which is still really unknown what it can do, or what it has been doing besides healing), and top grade holy weapons with unprecedented external methods even before Stellar Transformations. He really is a freak accident so his improvement rate will be incredibly fast.

Xiao Hei is also a bit strange in that he is some crossbreed with heritage memories that give him abilities even the supposed king of eagles [golden flame] doesn't possess. His ability to use and refine jindans is also probably many times superior than normal Xiaoyaoist methods.

That said, it makes sense that practicing as well as stealing jindans would be stronger than just practicing .

Yes, that is true. What I was trying to say is that the Xiuyaoist way of refining jindans on top of cultivation is superior in every way to normal Xiuxianists who just cultivate. Its like someone taking Rare Candy while others have to grind to get to the equialvalent level.

I also agree with what you said about Xiao Hei, he is also another freak.

I have to wonder how long it will normally take for someone to reach the peak of external practice IF they didnt have the Meteor Tear and didnt have a strange dantian like Qin Yu. Without the strange dantian, would it still be possible to absorb holy energy into your body's muscles and bones? Or would it automatically collect into the dantian? Ignoring all other attributes of Qin Yu's dantian, it was this aspect that allowed him to naturally disperse and then absorb holy energy into his body and not his dantian.

And we all know Qin Yu only progressed so much in his external practice because of this. If he wasnt able to enhance his body with holy energy, his body wouldnt be as strong or as flexible. Lei Wei was able to reach the peak of external practice but how long did he take? Zhao Yunxing said he expected Qin Yu to get to peak external in 30 years but thats only because he wasnt talented (however, his circumstances was already better than 99% of most people as he had access to the Hot Spring and medicated wines). What I am trying to speculate is the importance of energy absorption and whether any normal person who had a normal dantian wouldve been able to get to the same level of Qin Yu if all else the same.

Xiao Hei uses the Passing Lighning Flashing 9 Times technique at once. With his wings slightly vibrating continuously several times, he soars into the sky extremely fast like a zigzagging thunderbolt.

As for Qin Yu, the high-grade holy weapon Flaming Sword appears under his feet. His light silvery stellar energy spreads throughout his body and the sword. Qin Yu’s body now is just like a holy weapon. He and the sword have become one! Standing on the sword, he also flies west.

The 2 of them, one man and one eagle, fly away from either side of the Dragon Rocky lion.

Also question....does anyone with sufficient energy able to just fly? So far we have seen Qin Yu, Xiang Yang and Wu De do it. And now this Dragon Rocky Lion.

The Hong Luan is quite similar to Vermilion Bird but they're 2 different animals. In Xianxia novels, the Vermilion Bird has often been described as being superior to the Luan (by a small margin). And yes, anyone at the Jindan stage or above can fly. I think this was mentioned in a certain earlier chapter.

btw i would have thought it was a pheonix from the discription. or that bird from the 4 god of north south east west (suzaku i think) i forgot which 1 was which. and when i read the description of the lion i automatically think of the lion i the 4 gods (i think it was byakku if im not mistaken)

The Phoenix is the supreme bird. The Luan, while bearing some similarities to it, is only its descendant. And there's not any lion-like animal in the 4 directions divine beasts (dragon, tiger, bird, turtle). Perhaps you were thinking about the Qilin, a divine beast which is only inferior to the dragon and the phoenix.

I got the impression from description of Shangxian stories and this chapter Qinde fly riding sword.

But from previous chapter, I kind get the feeling that Qinyu can just fly like superman. Only when he is using Body-Sword Unification tech that he summon his sword.
