Either that, or it's some kind of technological device Lei Wei had, but probably the former.

Edit: Although, that does raise the question of how the Meteoric Tear was delivered to Qin Yu and if Qin Yu was deliberately chosen, why Starlet didn't summon him then.

Meteor Tear does seem to be connected to XiuZhenist practice.
It initially helped in healing, even to the extent of halting death and resuscitating a pierced heart.
Now we know that it can help with practicing the superior power of the soul.

I have my doubts about its connection to Lei Wei.
Lei Wei was very detailed in his documentation of "Stellar Transformation" practice.
He also had an extensive collection of XiuZhenist manuals, including those from the technological universe.

Yet... all the abilities given to Qin Yu by Meteor Tear came by surprise.
It is suggestive that Meteor Tear source is superior to what Lei Wei had achieved or collected.

Remember those 'miracle' pills Lei Wei left for healing?
They wouldn't have been needed if Lei Wei had anything like the healing powers of Meteor Tear.
Even if the pills were only for stages prior to achieving healing powers...

nope i doubt that because even if qin yu somehow manage to reach the late jindan phase he will still find it very hard to beat sang mo one on one not to mention other people from blood red cave won't let him win to save their face... well if qin yu manage to make a breakthrough and reach the meteor stage along with xiao hei also reach yuan ying stage i think there's a some chance they can wipe out the 13 guardian to had a good chance to beat 13 guardians i think they need to reach middle phase of meteor and yuan ying stage but even with that they'll will still lose to the dong xu stage red pyton which is the leader of red blood cave... even by chance if they can sneakily kill him the leader that has reach dong xu stage can became loose immortal and kill them

@All: Thanks for your support, guys. I didn't think I'd get this far this fast when I started to translate this novel. Sometimes I got pissed off and wanted to take a long break too, for example, because of overly long chapters, or because of bloody typos in the Chinese text whose right words I couldn't seem to figure out, but I managed to carry on when I thought about the epicness in the later parts of the story.

Kind of hope Qin Yu and Xiao Hei run out of special techniques and need to find other methods to deal with things.

It's a bit repetitive that whenever they run into trouble, Qin Yu just needs to read some special book that Lei Wei has (which usually damages yourself and the Meteor Tear repairs him) and Xiao Hei randomly says that he has a special technique in his hereditary memories that can deal with the situation.

That said, I still check for updates a few times a day

Don't worry, this is a huge arc, 300 chaps or so, and we're only at the beginning of its prelude, where some skills crucial to QY's survival are introduced. Later he'll have to rely more on tricks to get out of difficult situations.

Interesting tidbit about the Meteoric Tear. I wonder if my crackpot theory about Starlet has any chance of being true...

Sang Mo is Dongxu so there are three stages above him, Kongming, Dujie, and Dacheng. Above Sang Mo are the Nine Demons Hall leaders, and then above the Nine Demons Hall leader are the blue dragon and the three-eyed toad. I wonder if the gap between all these experts is sufficient for the blue dragon and three-eyed toad to be at Dacheng level. I would guess the answer is no, that they are Dujie at most, and that no one in the region has attained Dacheng, but we'll see. Also interesting is to wonder how these guys stack up compared to the Xiuyaoists in the deep Wilderness. I would guess the latter are stronger since Qin Yu will visit those guys later in the course of the plot.

Also, thanks for the translation he-man. In terms of translating speed and accuracy you can definitely be said to have reached the top level.

Sang Mo is much more formidable than Xiang Yang even though both of them are early Yuanying stage experts.

Sang Mo is more powerful, compared to opponents Qin Yu has encountered so far.
But he is comparatively weak measured against the stages listed.

The author seems to prefer having Qin Yu meeting up with opponents not too much more powerful.
Seeing that this is early in the 300 chapters arc he-man mentioned...
... and Qin Yu's spiritual sense is already more powerful than Sang Mo...
... Qin Yu will be learning and using new skills to beat Sang Mo.

I suppose Sang Mo is one of the first challenges in this story arc,
where Qin Yu has to learn and master new skills.
I expected Qin Yu to encounter progressively more powerful opponents
as he progresses to later practice stages.
