    Default Syria Hack

If you're able to read this, that means you knew enough about web pages to hit the ESC button before the page finish loading. That's the only way to stop the page from forwarding you to the Syria hacking page. Because that worked, it could only mean they had to be injecting JavaScript into the site somehow. Since I doubt they targeted SPCNET directly, the only conclusion is that they hacked the Ads service that SPCNET uses.

So blocking the ads should also block the exploit.

I don't get forwarded to that hack site anymore.
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.

I agree with your analysis. We need to block the ads for now.

How to stop the redirect hack.

    Mozilla Firefox
    1. Double-click the Mozilla Firefox icon to open it.
    2. Select "Tools," "Options," "Advanced" on the tab bar and then "General" on the sub-tab bar.
    3. Check "Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload the page."

For those of you who are still using Internet Explorer

    Internet Explorer
    1. Double-click the Internet Explorer icon to open it.
    2. Select "Tools," "Options," "Advanced."
    3. Check "SSL 2.0" and "SSL 3.0" under the section labeled "Security."

I'm using Adblock Plus for Google Chrome, but doesn't seem to be working.

The hack has been removed. They took advantage of an exploit in vBulletin and posted an announcement which redirected to the other site. I believe I have closed it. Sorry for the problem. Hopefully things like this won't happen again.
