Other than being Li Xihua's father and being killed by Li Zicheng, who was he, and did he appear in other novels?

From White Haired Demoness:
"Who is Li Yan?" Yu Luocha asked.
Red Madame said, "He is the commanding general under the Young Roaming King, he is also my husband."
"My respects, my respects!" Yu Luocha said.
Tie Feilong walked near and made his acquaintance with Red Madame; they had heard about each other and thus expressed their admiration toward each other. Tie Feilong said, "Isn't your respectable husband the son of Li Jingbai, the high official of the Ministry of War?"
"He is," Red Madame replied.
Thanks for that. I'd assumed he was a character in Bi Xuejian or something, like the other guest characters in DOMD. My guess is he's a historical, or at least legendary character. Otherwise he'd have achieved the rare feat of being an obscure fictional character who manages to be referenced by two different authors. Come to think of it, are there any obscure fictional characters who've been referenced by multiple authors?
The only historical Li Yan I know of is the Shu officer from the San Guo period. He was actually given a similar rank to Zhuge Liang on Liu Bei's deathbed.
Its BIxie Jianfa Gawdammit you guys!!!!
He is a historical character. He and his brother Li Mou were slandered by Niu Jinxing and executed by Li Zicheng (or Liu Zongmin, I can't remember exactly which of the two).
