In exchange for 4 divine beast blood samples, Radiant "freed" Linley's mother (encouraged by Fate). She returned with Linley to be with the father.

She didn't seem to remember a lot of things and were cold towards Linley.

Though it was already revealed earlier (when Linley killed one of the wind sovereigns), it was after the mother of all battles at purgatory(?) that Linley realised her mother was still a slave (angel) of Radiant, and was not free. The TRUTH is that only the death of Radiant will free any angels from slavery

So starts the battle between Linley and Radiant. Radiant was weaker. But Fate intervened - through divine sense ask Linley to desist. Fate was too far away so Radiant became Nada, Zilch, Kaput....and her mother regained her memories back on Yulan.

The rest- battle between Fate and Linley. Linley was transformed after shouting "I have the power". Atop cringer, he used his Power Sword to kill...oop sorry - that was the tall tale of He-Man...

About Angels :

Technically speaking, to free someone that has been enslaved into an angel, apart from killing the controlling sovereign, One can also have said controlling sovereign release the ownership of the angel creating device, but they can't target a specific angel for release, only release all or none...

And since there are only 2 of such devices able to create 12 winged angels, Radiant wasn't willing to lose half of his elite army when he has a big war around the corner...and he chose to trick Linley ... and die.

Back in retrospective, since most his angels died in the war anyway, a smarter move for him would have been to explain the situation to Linley, agree to refrain from sending Linley's mum to war (in exchange for the same payment he received with his trick) and sacrifice in priority the angels from the same device as mum in that war, so at the end , he could still release her and not suffer too much loss...

Its not like he was expecting more than half his army to wiped out. The layers of irony surrounding the whole affair where so thick it was almost unbearable.

how do does one become a sovereign? besides using sovereign sparks? or an overgod? i know it was talked about by doehring when he was in linley ring but it's gibberish now since what he talked about was not accurate.

I believe the only way to become a sovereign is to get your hands on a spark. As for the lvl of sovereign that mostly depends on the spark, there is an agreement between them that modifies it a bit but its mostly the spark's lvl that determines the sovereign's lvl.

The UC made it so that the oldest beings in the world could become sovereigns. They are know as the original sovereigns but most of them died. If I remembered correctly the fate sovereign used to be an extremely old plant that became a sovereign due to his age. Of course, the UC limited them to 77 sovereigns.

Either it's destruction or death that was a plant originally. Can't remember, but in the search for the sovereign to resurrect his loved ones, Linley encountered snakes and trees (plant).

Then someone (another sovereign?) gave some details of this plant being one of the first creation, and subsequently becoming a sovereign. Also, he wears something akin to tree leaves pattern...

I think the Death sovereign was the first living thing in the underworld and is some kind of plant. The tree Linley and Bebe met is a Life sovereign but I don't know if its another clone or not. Fate sovereign's race kind of reminds me of Namekians

Can someone give me a summary of Linley's fight with the paragons in the item snatching contest? How did everyone react to Linley's awesomeness? Also, what was the purpose of the contest?

Purpose of the contest: to snatch the 3rd part of the item (all=3 parts; Linley has 2 already. Similar to Stellar Transformation near-ending).
The rush to obtain the last part spans a few chapters:35-43. This synopsis only covers the last fight where Linley obtained the crystal

The sovereigns sent their paragons. Radiant sent "Clementine". All together 10 people, including bebe who was there for the ride...[don't know why there are 8 paragons (plus Linley=9)]. Linley and Bebe represent themselves

[Dunnington was one of the emissaries - the one that helped to identify the traitor within the divine beasts clan. Beye, the one who fought Linley and Bebe at purgatory war, was there too]

Chap 41
Clementine, Radiant's paragon got hold of the crystal and was running away from the other 8 (bebe is ignored - not a threat).
Got his men to report to Radiant that he has the crystal, and warned that he may not escape the other 8 - if this happened, Clementine will simply go into the void and expect Radiant to rescue him and the crystal from the void

Clementine was very confident and planned thoroughly. Had no fear of the other 8

The 8 blocked the route (expected path of escape) and discussed how to deal with Clementine. Very difficult to be killed. Priority is to snatch the crystal.
Bebe wisely interrupted their discussion - if the crystal is snatched, who gets it?
Linley said to discuss this later. Main objective is to get the crystal first. Then compete based on strength who gets the crystal

Encountered Clementine and Linley told Bebe to stay to one side.

Beye attacked while the rest cast soul attack. blah, blah blah - Clementine could not win but threatened to destroy the crystal. Also told them that he had told Radiant already.

Chapter 42

The 8 weren't afraid of Radiant as this is a fair competition for the crystal
And the others thought Linley was sent by Destruction who is more powerful than Radiant anyway.

Suddenly Clementine threw the crystal far away. Everyone rushed to grab the crystal. Linley, with his powerful tail, grabbed the crystal. The other 7 was about to attack Linley. Crystal turned out to be fake. But Clementine has already escaped and was far away.

Too far to catch up - paragons were discouraged but not Linley. They slowed down, but Linley activated his fusion nuclear energy

But even then Linley just sped up a bit faster than Clementine so as not to frighten Clementine (in case he rushed into the void)
The paragons were stunned - Ley has hidden strength? Ley's speed was faster than the fastest paragons!

Clementine smirked - this small increase in speed will not matter. Anyway, only one Ley to fight against, since the others have given up. Nothing to worry about.

Just as Ley was near Clementine, his speed increased 3x shocking Clementine. This is beyond paragon, at least 2 levels higher!
Too late - Clementine ate Ley's fist. Despite having artifact (sovereign?), Clementine was bloodied, his brain gets fuzzied...Ley's fist=sovereign's artifact.

Ley then transformed, telling Clementine that he has not yet used his full might. Now Ley has the ability to kill Clementine after transformation.

All paragons were stunned.

Ley and Clementine talked - worth dying for the crystal? Even if Clementine rushed into the void, Ley will rush in too, to kill Clementine.
Clementine said not worth dying for Radiant. Nothing significant to gain from Radiant.

Clementine asked Ley if this was "upper" levels of paragon.

Chapter 43


Ley's power is 10x that of paragon. Clementine was wondering if there are other breakthroughs for paragons (as they seem to have reached their limit) - exciting to paragons since they now know there are other levels...

Ley lied saying its because his body is like sovereign artifact. something like those divine beasts...


Clementine handed over the crystal. Other paragons (and bebe) arrived. Beye asked if body can practised to that extent. Ley simply said he went thro a lot to get to this level. Ley asked them if they want to snatch the crystal from him

The paragons laughed and simply said that it will be courting death...like Clementine, they had no desire to die for their sovereigns.

Just as Bebe and Ley was about to depart, Radiant imagery appeared in the sky...

How come no one knows that linley has a soul-mutation? When a soul-mutant attacks, you are able to feel that s/he is using more than one element/law. Surely any sovereign can detect Linley's soul-mutation when he uses more than one element.

Yes. Along the way back from purgatory war (where he mutated) a few sent emissaries to recruit him.
He was already prepared when he discussed with Bluefire how to go about it - reject nicely (need time to consider, something like that)

I think soul mutation is only detected when they use fusion to fight (learmont, olivier whose fighting method easily reveals their fusion power, light and darkness, etc).

Linley never used it until his fight with Clementine. But even then, all he revealed with his frightening speed (wind?) and incredible body strength (divine beast?). After all he has 4 divine clones...

Linley had to keep it a secret for his showdown with his nemesis - Radiant.
