Default DESOLATE ERA - BOOK 5, CHAPTER 18 - THE JI CLAN'S CONCESSION

Book 5, Chapter 18 was released late yesterday evening.
    click to show/hide spoilers
Dong Ziqi and the other members of the Snowdragon Mountain's Swallow Mountain branch continue to strong arm the Ji Clan. Granny Shadow angrily confronts Dong Ziqi about Muse attacking Ji Ning, but Dong Ziqi plays it off as Muse being excited and wanting to spar with Ji Ning, although he goes on to say that even if that wasn't the case, the Ji Clan wouldn't be able to do anything about it. His comment lights a fire in the members of the Ji Clan present, and nearly all of them call for Ninefire to lead them in a fight against the Snowdragon Mountain cultivators present.

However, Ninefire wisely tells everyone to stand down because he knows that even if the Ji Clan were to prevail that day, they would still have to wait until they contacted the Darcian Dynasty, then await an emissary from the DD to inspect the elemental ore deposit, before agreeing to and signing a treaty that would allow the clan protection for 1,000 years (liklely in exchange for giving up 70% of the elemental ore harvested). But even if the Ji Clan did survive in the interim between the present and the treaty signing, Ninefire was well aware that after 1,000 years the Snowdragon Mountain's forces would descend on the Ji Clan and destroy it in retaliation. Ninefire tells everyone that a 30% share of the ore isn't worth the Ji Clan's destruction and urges Ji Ning to live and get stronger, as he is the hope of the Ji Clan.

After Ninefire finishes talking to the Ji Clan, Dong Ziqi tells them that regardless of whether the Ji Clan agrees
to turn over the rights to the elemental ore, the Ji Clan would still have to hand over the official writ to the City of Ten Thousand Swords. This would essential evict the Ji Clan from their homeland and once again rouses nearly every member of the Ji Clan into a rage filled frenzy, but Ninefire manages to calm them again. He agrees to handing over the official writ, but only under the condition that Snowdragon Mountain hands over one of its own official writs in exchange.

Default DESOLATE ERA - BOOK 5, CHAPTER 19 - SEPARATION

Book 5, Chapter 19 released earlier today.
Ji Ninefire is a badass! After having the outer sect members of Snowdragon Mountain answer his terms for turning over the official writ for the City of Ten Thousand Swords, he takes action. There were a few lines in this chapter that I particularly enjoyed.
    click to show/hide spoilers

After hearing Ji Ninefire's demand to exchange the Ji Clan's official writ with one of their own, the members of Snowdragon Mountain's outer sect that are present doubt any of their fellow clan leaders and Zifu Disciples would be willing to make the exchange. Dong Ziqi, instead gives Ji Ninefire and the Ji Clan two choices, either (1) hand over the official writ and be allowed to live on the land until all elemental ore is extracted, at which point Dong Ziqi promises that Snowdragon Mountain will return the official writ or (2) face annihilation.

The Ji Clan's reaction to Dong Ziqi's promise to return the official writ was pretty colorful:
"What a dogshit promise! What was a promise worth? Just by a saying a few empty words, he was demanding that the Ji clan hand over their official writ?"

Dong Ziqi tries to further turn up the pressure on Ji Ninefire by repeating his ultimatum. Ji Ninefire's response is to launch an attack (Thunderflame Pearlsx6) from a magic treasure that causes Dong Ziqi and his forces to disperse, before activating a bewildering formation (that he apparently prepared ahead of time) that would further prevent the Snowdragon Mountain Zifu Disciples from regrouping, so that the Ji Clan could pick them off one by one.

Ji Ninefire gives orders for his lower ranking subordinates to arrange for key members of the clan to quickly leave Swallow Mountain to preserve the Ji Clan's lineage; to have several messengers notify the Darcian Dynasty of the elemental ore deposit in order to start the process to receive its protection, and for any remaining warriors at the Zifu Disciple level to remain with him to engage the Snowdragon Mountain Zifu Disciples. Lastly he reminds Ji Ning that he is the hope of their clan and that if things go South during their battle, to use his Traceless Talisman to escape.

Other lines that I particularly enjoyed were:

My Ji clan isnt a soft bone for them to chew on. They are riding on our heads to the point where they are even pissing and shitting on our faces.

Prepare to kill, then. Ninefire began to laugh loudly. Its been so many years since Ive gone wild. I suddenly feel much younger, and filled with anticipation, like the first time I entered my marital bed!

I guess if you're from Ji Ning's current home planet, you gotta admire a guy who feels going off to slaughter his enemies and sexual excitement go hand in hand.

Default DESOLATE ERA - BOOK 5, CHAPTER 20 EACH SHOWING THEIR ABILITIES

New chapter released yesterday evening. Enjoy!
    click to show/hide spoilers

Ji Ninefire divides the six(total) Ji Clan experts into two teams. Ji Ninefire and Ji Ning's team of four go to attack the He siblings, while Ji Ishwin's team moves to ambush Ju San. Meanwhile Dong Ziqi has linked up with Muse, using his Eight Trigram Blood Dragons Formation, and has devised a plan to destroy Ji Ninefire's bewildering formation. Dong Ziqi guards Muse, who uses his Myriad Ancient Green Vines technique to spread vines throughout and past the boundaries of the formation to find a way out and to destroy it.

Ji Ninefire and Ji Ning plan their ambush of the He Siblings. We learn that Ji Ninefire specializes in poisons and setting up formations and that he has a ranked magic treasure in the form of a poison sword. He uses his poison sword to start the attack against the He Siblings, who erect a barrier that takes on the appearance of a green water curtain to defend them. Granny Shadow slips in behind Ji Ninefire's attack, striking with three, presumably, ranked magic treasures, followed by Ah Xing who wields a powerful looking war hammer to strike at the siblings' defenses, nearly shattering their water curtain barrier. It is here that Ji Ning unleashes his (level nine) Lesser Thousand Swords Formation on the siblings, striking the younger sister, He Xing, and shattering the protective treasure she wielded that surrounded her in a golden aura.

Default DESOLATE ERA - BOOK 5, CHAPTER 22 TWO MORE REMAINING

Book 5, Chapter 22 was released on Saturday evening.
    click to show/hide spoilers
In chapter 21, Ji Ninefire & Ji Ning's group continue their attack on the He Siblings. Thanks to the Ji Clan's superior numbers and coordination, the siblings are backed into a corner and realize that if they don't go all out, the battlefield will be their grave and therefore activate forbidden arts. In exchange for sacrificing some of their
lifespan, the two receive a large power-up and their control over the magic treasures increase, allowing average Zifu Disciples, such as them, to match more powerful and experienced experts of the same levels, like Ji Ninefire and Granny Shadow.

With their power boost, the siblings are able to find off the Ji Clan's coordinated attacks and launch a counterattack. The two release many rays of "dark light" at the group, but Ji Ning blocks the attacks meant for him and his comrades using the Fire-Water Lotus and his Darknorth swords. Thanks to him, Ji Ninefire and the other two experts, all of whom are Ki refiners, are protected from life threatening injuries, while Ji Ning, himself merely walks off his injuries, before his Fiendgod body heals itself moments later.

In the face of the previous attack, the Ji Clan's Ki-refiners hesitate to engage the He Siblings in close combat because of the danger to their lives. However, Ji Ning as a Fiendgod body refiner volunteers to engage them. The two are thrilled at the aspect of killing the Ji Clan's monster and weakening them in the future and meet his attack
head on. He engages the sister, He Xing, who had already lost her protective talisman, first. The younger expert uses his superior swordsmanship and Fiendgod body to draw He Xing into an exchange of lethal blows between the two, where he is struck in the head, but survives, and she was decapitated.

He Fang watches as his little sister's head flies off in horror and comes under the mistaken impression that Ji Ning's Fiendgod body is already at the Zifu Disciple level. Now enraged, he draws upon the Zifu Violet Palace in his body, which was like an enormous lake containing endless amounts of water, and detonates it, hoping to catch Ji Ning and other Ji Clan members in the destructive wave of ki that he unleashed. Ji Ning senses something amiss, and using his Windwing Evasion technique in attempt to flee while warning the other members of his clan.

In Chapter 22, Ji Ning survives, having fled from the ki wave's epicenter, and was flung a distance away and smashed into the ground by the wave, resulting in a huge crater and his wing type magic treasures being destroyed. Ji Ning's fellow clansmen/woman rush to Ji Ning's location to see if he is alive. Ji Ning emerges from
the crater after answering Ninefire's call, his body already healing the horrible damage from the blast and shortly after leaving no traces of the injuries.

After a quick explanation on the nature and importance of a Zifu Disciple's Zifu Lake, the story turns to Dong Ziqi and Muse for a moment. Muse is still expanding the vines from his technique to locate the others and escape and has unknowing come close to locating Ju San, who should be engaging his father and Ji Truekeep. After hearing He Fang's death throws, Dong Ziqi roars that he will annihilate the Ji Clan. Ninefire calls Dong Ziqi a coward and points out that Dong Ziqi had intended to annihilate them anyway since Ji Ninefire refused to hand over the official writ.

Ji Ninefire prepares the others to engage Dong Ziqi and Muse, but has Ji Ning hold back, as he has another task for him. As the creator of the bewildering formation, he is aware that Muse is close to locating Ju San with his technique, so he orders Ji Ning to rush over to his father and Ji Truekeep and help them kill Ju San before Muse
    can locate him.

Ji Ning locates his father's group and Ju San, witnessing Ji Ishwin and Ji Truekeep striking the later from afar. Ji Ning reveals, through his thoughts, how it is strange how that he has never seen his father use any magic treasures, and wonders if he is a Zifu Disciple. He remembers the words Ji Ninefire had spoken that led to Ji Ning
assuming his father was a Zifu Disciple, then recalls how, during the Serpentwing Incident, Ji Ishwin had to ask Lady flower for a ride, using her Azure Firebird, to pursue the snake and becomes bewildered even further. Since his father has refused to answer him when asked about the inconsistency, he decides to ask Ji Ninefire after they have dealt with Dong Ziqi and the others.

Ju San, being a Fiendgod body refiner and a practioner of the [Mighty Demon Introductory] body refining technique was able to hold his own against the two Ji Clan members' long range attacks when Ji Ning arrived. Ji Ning announces his arrival and, using a new winged magic treasure, engages Ju San in close combat, much to
Snowdragon Mountain warrior's delight, as he preferred (close combat) and tired of being relentlessly beaten down from a distance.

Besides being a Fiendgod body refiner, Ju San wields a greataxe and has spent over a century of his efforts to develop his (CC) skills, and while he is also Zifu ki refiner as well, he did not expend much effort in learning how to ride magic treasures. That did not stop him from using a wing type, ranked magic treasure, which caught Ji Ning's interest, to engage the young Ji Clan member.

The two closed in on one another and began their (CC) battle in earnest, tearing apart the landscape in the wake of their attacks. While Ji Ning was impressed with Ju San's axe wielding, he was still able to land numerous blows against the Zifu Disciple, with his ability to divide his mind allowing him to wield each of his two Darknorth swords with a different swordplay technique. Ju San on the other hand, had only wounded Ji Ning twice, and only then because the younger expert had willingly accepted the blows to strike his opponent in exchange. Ju San realized that he was at a disadvantage.

Ji Ning refused to relent, upping the intensity of his attacks, hoping to force Ju San to reveal more flaws in his defense. Ji Ning's assault increased in speed as well, throwing Ju San's movements into disorder and giving Ji Ning the opening he needed to strike a decisive blow. Ju San was now unable to keep up, and Ji Ning bisected him at his waist, then unleashed his Thunderflash Flintx3 on further cutting up Ju San, as his head roared that it would the damage Ji Ning inflicted wouldn't be enough to kill him. Ji Ning agreed, and before Ju San's Fiendgod body could repair itself, he summoned his Fire-Water Lotus to grind the down what remained of Ju San until he was no more.

Ji Iswin and Ji Truekeep stood some distance from where Ji Ning ended up after he ended the ended the battle with Ju San. Staring with looks of shock and disbelief, as Ji Ning happily gathered the belongings of the defeated. Ji Ning then turned to the two men and suggested that they hurry over to the Patriarch so that they could aid his group in killing Dong Ziqi and Muse.

Default DESOLATE ERA - BOOK 5, CHAPTER 23 LIFE AND DEATH, TWO CHOICES

Book 5, Chapter 23 released a few hours ago.
    click to show/hide spoilers

Ji Ning and the others rejoin Ji Ninefire's group, surrounding Dong Ziqi and Muse. Ji Ninefire urges Ji Ning not to rush in, so the later attempts to use the Lesser Thousand Sword Formation to pierce the eight shadowy dragons that make up Dong Ziqi's Eight Trigrams Blood Dragon Formation, but he is only able destroy one of the dragons, which quickly reforms. Impressed, Dong Ziqi commends Ji Ning's strength, but tells him that in order to destroy his formation, the Ji Clan genius' power is far from sufficient.

Ji Ninefire once again urges Ji Ning not to rush in, and Ji Ning assents, as he had learned that while Fiendgod body refiners generally surpassed Ki refiners in strength, individually there were many ki refiners who had developed techniques and methods to deal with Fiendgod body refiners. Ji Ninefire orders everyone to attack Dong Ziqi's formation together, Despite destroying several dragons from their attack, the are not able to break it and Ji Ninefire orders everyone to cease their attacks. While inwardly worried that the Ji Clan's forces may use forbidden techniques to break his formation, Dong Ziqi is outwardly arrogant and proclaims that despite the loss of his fellow sect members, if he was serious, he would annihilate them all (coughcough***** move!cough).

In his heart Ninefire may not have wanted to relent, but in the face of Dong Ziqi's formation and there only being a matter of time before Muse's vines expand beyond the border of his bewildering formation, he orders the other members of the Ji Clan to stand down and let them escape. Granny Shadow and the others want to continue the assault to kill Dong Ziqi and Muse, as he will return with more Zifu Disciples and be even harder to kill later, but Ji Ninefire tells them that sacrificing three or more of them isn't worth killing the two of them. Everyone realized that killing their enemies was secondary and surviving so that they could defend their clan against the enemies that would come was what mattered.

After the others accepted Ji Ninefire's decision, within the Eight Trigrams Blood Dragon Formation, Muse's vines finally expand outside of the bewildering formation, which he uses to guide himself and Dong Ziqi outside formation's boundary. Once they leave, Dong Ziqi tells the Ji Clan that he will avenge his losses by returning to annihilate them and Ji Ninefire dispels his formation, sees revealing experts from the Riverbank and Bandit clans and the Blackfire Sect hovering about, no doubt waiting to observe the outcome of the battle. Ji Ninefire addressed them and they mentally called out to him, giving him various reasons they didn't aid the his clan. Though he couldn't blame them, for while the three groups were allied with his Ji Clan against Snowdragon Mountain and the Ironwood Clan, that was only as far as the Swallow Mountain was concerned. These three groups knew that with the discovery of the elemental ore deposits and the confrontation that just occurred, numerous Snowdragon Mountain experts from outside of Swallow Mountain who could easily destroy them would come. No matter how enticing the reward, it wasn't worth their destruction.

Ji Ninefire gathers the others together and outlines the two choices available to them. Choice one is that he and the others go into hiding while they await from the angel from the Darcian Dynasty to descend in order to sign the agreement. If they choose to do this, after taking one or two days to gather their forces, experts from Snowdragon Mountain would enter the Ji Clan's territory in search of them and would begin slaughtering and enslaving their clansmen, in the hundreds of thousands, once they realized Ji Ninefire and the others were hiding. The second option would be for Ninefire and the other experts to choose a location to make a stand, set up a defensive formation, and make a public announcement of their intent to face Snowdragon Mountain. This would force their enemies to gather and confront them, as their reputation would suffer greatly if they began a killing spree of the Ji Clan's mortal clansmen, instead of going to face them. This choice would hopefully spare many thousands of clansmen and if their defensive formation could hold out until the Darcian Dynasty's angel arrived and should they be able to escape, they would be able to survive with their clan during the term of the agreement. The chapter ends with Ji Ninefire asking everyone present to give their opinion on which of these two courses of action they should choose.

I think that Ji Ning opens his Violet Palace in Book 5, Chapter 25. As for why it took him so long to achieve Zifu level as a Fiendgod body Refiner, well, I suppose there is a reason why Fiendgod body refiners are generally considered to be stronger than ki refiners and why we have seen so few of them.

Default DESOLATE ERA - BOOK 5, CHAPTER 24 THE STONE ROOM WITHIN THE MINE

Book 4, Chapter 24 released last night.
    click to show/hide spoilers
After the confrontation with the Snowdragon Mountain Sect and their patriarch, Ji Ninefire, outlining their only two options for responding to the all out attack that will come from their enemies, the Ji Clan members make their individual choices. No surprise, Ji Ninefire decides to fight. Granny Shadow, who rerfers to herself as Ji Ninefire's sister and who shares the Ji surname with him, also decides to fight with her brother. Ah Xing, a servant of Granny Shadow, decides to accompany his mistress into battle, and Ji Truekeep states that he, knowing the limits of his talent, will probably not be able to become a Wanxiang Adept, so he also decides to fight for his clan.

With all of the other Zifu Disciples decisions made, Ji Ishwin also decides to battle and states his reasons. He tells the patriarch that he doesn't wish to die a silent meaningless death, so he must participate in the coming battle, even though his Immortal Path is shattered. Ji Ning is astonished to hear this revelation and questions his father on it. Ji Ishwin explains that before he was born, he was able to reach the Mid-Zifu Disciple level while he and his mother were traveling through the Darknorth Sea. When they discovered that Ji Ning's mother was pregnant, Ji Ishwin decided to return with her to his homeland, but Yuchi Snow's unnamed brother believed the journey would be dangerous, so he accompanied them. On their journey to Swallow Mountain, calamity befell them all, with Ji Ishwin and his brother-in-law forced to use forbidden arts to make their escape, but the price was that Yuchi Snow was injured, Ji Ning's maternal uncle's had perished, and Ji Ishwin's Zifu was now atrophied to the point where he could no longer cultivate or advance any further along the immortal path. Ji Ishwin could only draw out a tiny strand of Ki from his Zifu, which was not even enough to ride a magic treasure, so he could only choose to focus his efforts on his swordplay, working to draw out the power of the world in every single blow.

Ji Ishwin reveals he can use his forbidden art one last time to draw upon the ki from his Zifu, but that afterwards he would become a cripple. In the past he wanted to reserve its use for a time when Ji Ning would be in grave danger and shatter the jade sword Ji Ishwin had given him, so that he could rush over to rescue him, as he felt that even if Ji Ning encountered a Zifu Disciple, his power would be enough to rescue him. However, now that Yuchi Snow has died and Ji Ning has become monstrously strong, Ji Ishwin believes he can go all out without any regrets to engage in one last, glorious battle to for his clan. After hearing all of this, Ji Ning's heart was shaken and he expresses his wish to also fight alongside everyone, to which Ji Ninefire initially refuses, but when Ji Ning reveals that he possess the Traceless Talisman, he changes his mind and makes Ji Ning promise to flee if the situation becomes hopeless.

Ji Ning agrees, so Ji Ninefire then reiterates his prediction that the Snowdragon Mountain Sect plans to gather as many Zifu Disciples from nearby sects as possible and will descend on the Ji Clan en masse, and reveals that the group may even contain a Wanxiang Adept. Knowing that facing such a group head on would be disastrous, Ji Ninefire decides that one of their next courses of action will be for him to begin to setting up defensive formations in preparation for the upcoming battle, while the others find ways to improve their fighting ability, such as using their prefecture's guardian treasures.

Ji Ninefire also mentions that the fact that no one has discovered the enormous elemental ore deposit beneath their feet up until this point and the elemental wave that prompted everyone to investigate is suspicious. The group theorizes that the elemental mine appeared as a result of some mysterious treasure appearing in their world or an Immortal using the location to train in seclusion. In any event, Ji Ninefire suggests that they get to the bottom of the elemental ore's appearance and they have Ji Ning use his Fire-water Lotus technique to dig through the ore. As they progress farther and deeper, some in the group marvel at the strength and speed of Ji Ning's technique and it isn't long before the elemental ore that surrounds them increases in quality, signaling that they are getting closer to their goal. Finally, they arrive at a set of rocks that Ji Ning's Fire-water Lotus technique can't break, which are revealed to be a set of stone doors located over 100km beneath the surface. Ji Ninefire warns him to be wary of restrictive spells at, to keep his distance, and use his sword magic treasure to open the doors. After Ji Ning uses, what is implied to be, his Lesser Thousand Sword Formation, to open the door, an incomparably thick surge of elemental essence escapes from the room and the group is almost certain that their are treasures within the room.

I think in the next chapter Ji Ning begins his transition from a Xiantian lifeform to a (ki-refiner) Zifu Disciple.

Default DESOLATE ERA - BOOK 5, CHAPTER 25 ESTABLISHING THE ZIFU!

Book 5, Chapter 25 was released early this morning.
    click to show/hide spoilers
The Ji Clan arrive at the chamber that they discovered within the elemental ore deposit. Ji Ninefire cautions Ji Ning from entering and sends one of his bugs inside the room to investigate. After finding no sign of traps, Ji Ninefire and Granny Shadow enter to investigate further. Only after they are sure there are no traps do they allow Ji Ning to enter.

Upon entering, Ji Ninefire reveals that the elemental ore deposit that they discovered was in fact created as a result of an immortal training there. Apparently the immortal set up a formation to gather natural energy and create concentrated elemental essence, which is much more valuable and coveted for its ease of use than elemental ore, and the elemental ore deposit that formed as a result was actually a bi-product. Ji Ning suggests that Ji Ninefire use the elemental essence to advance to Wanxiang Adept, but he refuses, as he believes that he has advanced as far as he is able. Instead, he and everyone else encourage Ji Ning to use the remaining elemental essence to advance to advance his training, and after seeing their earnestness, he agrees.

The others leave Ji Ning to train in solitude and stand watch above the mine. Ji Ning begins gathering elemental essence, deciding to use the Water Elemental Art, which, although a mediocre technique, is an easier method to advance to (ki-refiner) Zifu Disciple. After gathering ki from the Elemental Essence, Ji Ning establishes his Violet Palace and continues to absorb elemental essence to form the Zifu lake that will reside within his Zifu Palace.

Default Book 5, Chapter 25 -STORMCLOUDS APPROACHING

Last Chapter of book 5 was released today.
    click to show/hide spoilers
Ji Ning established his foundation as a (ki-refiner)Zifu Disciple in the unknown immortal's underground training area by draining a third of the liquefied condensed elemental essence. After determining that progressing any further using the Water Elemental Art would impact his training in the future and make it harder to advance, he gather's the rest of essence in a ranked magic treasure that he to from Bei Zishan and binds the control talisman for the Aquatic Mansion with some of his Ki, then exits the training area, using his Fire-Water Lotus technique, arriving at the surface at around the same time as his fellow Ji Clan members who left earlier.

Once they are all on the surface, Ji Ninefire and Granny Shadow instruct everyone to inventory the items they received from their battle to see if there was anything useful. Ji Ning had one flying transportation magic treasure, one storage magic treasure, one protective magic treasure, one magic greataxe, and a pair of magic wings, all of which he received when he struck down Ju San, and of those treasures, he only kept the pair of magic wings, as the other items were of no particular use to him. When Ji Ninefire asked what items Ji Ning would need, he told them he would need ranked flying swords. Ji Ning was disappointed, however, to learn that the Ji Clan only had 5 ranked flying swords that were not in use, because he needed at least nine of such swords to form the at least one formation base for the entire formation, and estimated that if he were to only used ranked magic treasures, he would at most, be able to use the 3rd level of the Lesser Thousand Swords Formation. The qualitative difference of using only unranked magic treasures and ranked flying swords was enormous, so Ji Ning pressed the Patriach to at least get 7 ranked flying swords, as he had already owned two after defeating Bei Zishan. Ninfire agrees to try and help Ji Ning, and then orders them all to go back to their homes and pick up anything useful and return there.

Dong Ziqi and Muse arrive both arrive at Snowdragon City and are met by 3 other Zifu Disciples, Ju Nianxiong, and two members from the Dong clan. They question the on two where the other members of their group are, and Dong Ziqi tells them that they were all killed by the Ji Clan. In a seemingly edited version of his enconter with the Ji clan, he explains that the Ji Clan simply refused to turn over the rights to the mine and engaged them in battle, trapping them in a bewildering formation and cutting down Ju San and the He siblings. This incites the three waiting Zifu Disciples' rage, as one of them was Ju San's Uncle, Ju Nianxiong, and the Ji Clan had obtained the official writ to one of Snowdragon Mountain's three commandery cities that was in the possession of one of the He siblings, so Dong Ziqi tells them to gather other Zifu Disciples from nearby sects to join them in annihilating the Ji Clan, before the Ji Clan can get in contact with the Darcian Dynasty and sign an agreement with them.

Ji Ning uses a boat ranked magic treasure that he took from Bi Zishan to transport him and his father to his father's home at Serpent Lake. His father wanted to see his sworn brother and his uncle, White, one last time before the battle. The large white dog had known his father before Ji Ishwin had met his mother and traveled with him up to the point of his arrival at the Darknorth Sea and had saved his mother who had been pregnant with him in the past. While Ji Ishwin sad goodbye to his sworn brother and servant, Ji Ning returned to his own home to train and noticed that he was now able to sense the Aquatic Manor. Hoping that the secrets held within the manor could help him in the upcoming battle, he decided to journey there.

It get even worse later when he has exponentially more ressource and could even get her and himself to first rank and..somehow doesn't do this. Likewise for his mentor who did a ton of awesome stuff for him.

For god's sake, if you worry about your daughter being weak, why don't you teach her way's to upgrade her Jindan to second rank. Jeez, you have the resources to even repeat the process after your combination of 17 main body dead. Yet you don't have the gut's to spare some resources off for your daughter. Jeez,. Anyways, if you off put one clone and give the resources to your daughter to upgrade her Jindan, It's still din't effect much of you "Only One Body Techniques" JiNing

    And stop. Fuhhhh Finish ranting.

AFAIK, in IET novels, he always stressed the benefits of gaining strength by enlightment instead of by external forces. If there's no drawback from using external forces, then it's OK, but if there are drawbacks then usually IET's MC won't do it.

I can't remember the part you are ranting about, but as I remember it, Ji Ning's daughter born with abnormal strength being in the womb for that long. Anyhow, compare to Ji Ning, she become ordinary. I think Ji Ning wants the best for his daughter, but her 'slow' progress in the correct way makes him worried.

Ji Ning taught his daughter the 'wrong' way to become and Angel. E.G, he taught her defective techniques, and then didn't help her get back on the right track like he himself did.

Maybe he does after the part I am at, but a looong time happened since then, and he could have helped her out of the crippled techniques he taught her earlier

I found a strange MTL of a line in Vol 11 Ch. 7. It goes like this, the spirit of the mansion tells Ji Ning the following:
"This is a quiet room, ... , which is also the top row array Bodhi meditation, common name, Viagra can be extraordinary."

Don't know if "威能" is what has been used to refer to Viagra in China. Seems plausible. Certainly the idea of potency allies itself well. 威能 just means power.
