After my disappointment with the Hobbit Trilogy, Batman v Superman, the new STAR WARS Sequel Trilogy, it suffices to say I'm no longer interested in Hollywood productions, save maybe Avatar 2. Not now, not even two years from now. Hollywood must convince me they can do visuals at last on par with Japanese anime to lure me back...

Anyways, I have found 4 things I look forward to watching instead:

1. Tribes and Empires-Storm of Prophecy

2. Qing Yun Zhi

3. Ice fantasy

4. The Mystic Nine

Saw the first 2 episodes. Great production value. The costumes, sets and visual effects is quite nice. Some of the best visuals I've seen in a Chinese series.

That said, after the decent first episode, the second episode was a mess.

While it started with smooth pacing and editing, compared to a lot of Mainland series, the quality quickly dip. The war scene between the Ice and Fire tribe was terribly executed.

Either it's due to budget, or directing. Maybe both.

Zhang Meng introduction was also poorly done. It was confusing. Sometimes I wonder if there's even a director watching over in the editing room. It's like the editor just stitch scenes together according to a list, but no one to tell them how to make it cohesive. This is the same issue I have with most Mainland series. Same problem with God of War Zhao Yun. The editing in that series was a mess.

There's just no excuse for these big budget production.

With 62 episodes total, I'm not sure if I'll stick around.

Its set up is ok, but it's not very engaging.

What annoys me is.... THEY TRYING TO MAKE A MAN IN WHITE LONG HAIR SIMILAR TO MY LORD SESSHOUMARU!!!! its not that he aint handsome it's that MY SESSHOUMARU IS STILL WAY BETTER LOOKING THAN HIM!!! Nobody can replace him... The costume gtg. If anyone watch Inuyasha, they would know who I am talking about. The fur thing on the side too????

I really want to watch and like it. I read the novel many years ago when I was in middle school and I still like it more or less. But sorry to say I gave up watching after the first 5 min (costumes, lines, special effects, etc). And I got shocked by first line of lyrics "pretend we were still together", what the heck.

I have seen the 1st 6 episodes so far and it's a "meh" for me. Very LOTR inspired and a lot of CGI. The CGI is better quality than a lot of the shows I have seen it used in, but there's way too much of it going on. A lot of posing going on as well.
Feng Shao Feng is the heir to the ice kingdom who just wants his freedom. I can't get over how very cliché he is and somewhat boring as well, but I do care for some of the side characters so I might stick around a bit more to see how this goes down.

I think the major problem with this show is that the creators didn't realize that sometimes less is more...costuming, posing, cgi, dialogue...everything is a bit over the top. Here's to hoping that they will reel it back a bit.

I watched up to episode 5 and I don't like it much lol I think it's the scenes and inconsistencies? Like when the camera was on the younger brother YKS the background is a real forest and then when it goes back to KS talking the background is CGI. I also found the scene where the master died funny because he died without bleeding? Anyways I'm going to wait out a few more eps. before I stop watching.

I saw this show* was on Drama Fever, I just finished the first episode. I have to agree with the comments that, SO FAR, the show has a great production feel. But I feel because the production of the set and costumes seem so "high-end" I'll be expecting some bad CGI thrown into here, later on lol.

The first TV series, I watched with this type of CGI was Twin of Brothers (Raymond Lam, Tavia, etc) and I liked it (surpringly!). So I like how the CGI of their "powers/magic" is used in here.

We'll see how the rest of the series progresses (I have to finish it, even if its bad lol!). Plus, I am intrigued at looking at FSF after watching Prince of Lan Ling. Can you believe, I'm already annoyed with Mermaid Princess? HAHA.

I am really not feeling this series... maybe it is because they overdid the CGI too much... i mean the quality compare to others are the top but... with this much CGI, seem like the acting couldnt sync with the effect much... but i know my man can act (FSF) lol

I watched to about half way episode 3...can someone tell me what happens to the younger brother character? He is currently the only one I don't have a problem with. Does he go evil? I hope he does, I hope he takes the throne because his worthless brother doesn't deserve it.
