Hi! I think in order to get Zhao Liying to take on the role, the series may have tweaked the beginning of the story a bit and added more scenes for Biyao to give her more presence. But Lu Xueqi should still be the main girl in the second half. Because of popularity, I think that Zhao Liying's name will appear before Yang Zi, but Yang Zi may still have more screen time and story. It is like "Legend of Zu" where Zhao Liying is the main female lead yet she does not have the most scenes out of the females. If they do decide to cut Xueqi's scenes and change the story, i know many fans that will get very angry.

I hope it's as you said. I don't know the story of this, or much else really, but all the pics I've seen quickly caught my attention. It's definitely on my radar now. As for Zhao Liying, I like her and all, but I really hope she's not the main lead in this. Everywhere I turn I see her, lol I get she's popular now, so it's understandable. Best to her. I hope to see more of Yang Zi. I think it'll be refreshing to mix things up a bit. And to my shallowness she looks pretty in this series.

The costumes in this series are looking quite nice. It's colorful, but not blinding. Like Legend of Ancient Sword. That series was a rainbow. Hopefully the story will be good, and not another romance fill drag. Well romance is okay, slow pace not so much.

I'm new to the novel, and I thought that it was quite interesting. It's like a mixture of Harry Potter + XAJH + a bit of HSDS . Anyway, perhaps I'm just glad that I found an interesting story which is NOT mostly about romance or demons.

Yes, I would be annoyed if they decided to cut Xueqi's parts too. Perhaps it's because I knew people said that Xueqi is the main protagonist, so I'm always waiting for her. If they just reduce her parts like that, then all of her mighty description and her interaction with ZXF since the beginning would then be wasted

Okay, you got me at XAJH. Now I'm even more interested. And it being more than just "romance" and "demons" excite me further.

Most of new stories these days are about demons, spirits, or based on games. There are also Zhu Xian games, so I don't know whether the games were based on the novel or vice versa . But then, Zhu Xian was considered as one of the most anticipating adaptation this year, so I got curious and searched for the novel. Yes, it has spirits and demons too (or perhaps, it's more like mystical beasts ? ) . If I have to make a comparison, then perhaps the setting is similar to the Legend of Zhu, without the big bad demon . (someone please CMIIW)

Anyway, for me, the story is quite interesting and the amount of romance is, so far, balancing the amount of the adventure/action elements. Then again, the novel translation has not been finished and it doesn't seem that it's even near the end, so I don't know the rest of the story.

I'm still torned actually. The story does interest me, and although I've only read until book 3 (from the total of 8 books) , I'm hooked and I wanna know what's next. I've read an article that said that this adaptation is supported by big budget and is seriously developed, so I'm excited too.

Then again, I really like Xueqi,eventhough she hadnt appeared much in the first part of the story. She was described as cold and pretty. Her movement was graceful, and whenever she appeared in a fight, she was enveloped in blue light because she was using a blue mystical sword (even Zhang Xiao Fan, the main lead, was amazed by her). I've read somewhere that the author wrote her character while imagining his wife( dunno whether it's true or not), so ..yeah, I'm interested.

Well, I really hope that they do her character justice and satisfy a fan like me, hahaha. Anyway, I guess I'll just wait and see. I actually dont mind that they add more scenes to BiYao, as long as they let XueQi to shine.BiYao's story is interesting and touching too. But, because I've liked Xueqi more, plus I know the story, I'm eager to watch this series they way it is in the novel. Dunno, we'll see.

Yes, a thread for Chusen! I don't read a lot of novels but by chance got introduced to this by a friend and ever since I've waited for it to be made into drama. Although I was bumped to hear that the drama production changed/added a lot of stuff, but hopefully it'll be good. I just hope it stays true to most of the story and the book ending. The novel is super long though, they may have to cut many events from the book. I do think the best part of the book is after the protagonist went over to the dark side so hope they won't cut too much from the 2nd half of the story. I like both Bi Yao and Xue Qi, so I was ok with him ending up with either one of them. It's just one of those love stories where I hope he can just marry them both lol.

As for the casting, i think the best cast is Yang Zi as LXQ. She just has the appearance and aura down to a tee, exactly the LXQ I had in mind. Now let's get some good acting going and we'll have the perfect LXQ walking out of the book. On the other hand, ZLY as Bi Yao is a little unexpected. She's quite baby-faced and her character stills don't convince me yet. I hope she can bring out the mischievous and mysterious aura that Bi Yao has and not turning her into some cutesy type. As for Zhang Xiao Fan, LOLOL in the book he's described to be "ordinary", just like his name. He's so plain that would always get overshadowed by his smart and handsome childhood friend. But now we have Li Yi Feng playing ZXF, how is that ordinary? more like extraordinary LOL How can anyone overshadow him when he looks like this? xD

Man, so pretty he can rival the girls LOL I guess this is one of the rare times when an actor can be miscasted for a role because of how good-looking he is xD Many novel fans are against "shuai ge" playing the male lead, but I have no complaint here. I do prefer "shuai ge" like LYF playing ZXF because then it'd justify how such a "plain" guy can have two of the most beautiful and highly-skilled girls in the book heads over heels for him lol. There's actually one more girl liking him, it wasn't clear until some events later that revealed it, but she's quite young and XF shot her down quick, so any chance of romance died before it even started.

I was pretty neutral about LYF's casting until this new still of Gui Li character came out the other day. This is it! My love~~~~
