Hiya! May I know who is the producer? I don't seem to recognise any of those names, apart from Michael Miu, Li Zonghan, Shao Bing and Zong Fengyan. Will they be using new people?

Click on "Reply with Quote" under my post. You'll see the "[ IMG ]" starting and "[ / IMG ]" ending (no space) tags that you can manually add to the image link. Or, you can just edit my image link with your link...

Click on the third-last icon on the toolbar from the right (the tree). A pop-up will appear and click on URL and paste the URL of the pic you want in the space. Then click OK. If it still doesn't work, then unclick the "retrieve local images ..." box and try again.

FYI, here is some infos about the casts, but there is no Yang Kang here . There are websites with his pics, but couldn't find one with eng subs.

Honestly, it doesn't look interesting to me, but perhaps I'm being too pessimistic. I'm just imagining an LOCH with a lot of CGI, coz that's the trend nowadays. Then again, we still have to see later

I remember this production company declaring they were gonna remake 10 jinyong classics for 150mil USD production budget (average 15mil each) they did Duke-of-mt-deer 2014 featuring Han Dong

15mil/series isn't alot. Anyways, I just watched a short clip of Duke-of-mt-deer 2014. I have high hopes for this company. Their approach seems to be an acceptable production, not aiming to be the best, but not mediocre either. And the fight clip of Duke I just saw seems very STAR WARS-esque tapping into the Force, which is exactly the kind of fights I want to see in Jin Yong adaptation, not over-the-top CGI-fests kind like the ones in YZ productions, or the ones that rely on too much wire stunts.

I really hope they adapt ROCH soon after as a sort of continuity since we got two really bad ones in a row after the 1995 adaptation (the '98 ones from Taiwan & Singapore don't count).

FINALLY someone made this thread!! I am not an expert on wuxia stuff, so I'd rather wait for someone to make it.

Now I can post the photos of my favourite actor Michael Miu here as Huang Yaoshi. I've been so excited about it!

Have also posted my excitement here more than two weeks ago:

Why the 98 versions don't count? I just want to know, cos I gave up on ROCH story after watching the classic 83 version...

I surely hope, if they remake ROCH again, that Michael will still be Huang Yaoshi.

Tho I have to say that Kenneth Tsang's Huang Yaoshi will always be on my mind, but Michael Miu is such a versatile actor, I'd love to see his version of East Heretic.

That link is a relatively old link. It doesn't have Michael as Huang Yaoshi either.

Oh, just checked the link. They have updated it, now it has Yang Kang, but not Michael/HYS yet. I first checked the link when I wrote my blog article on 13 May, so I know they have updated it ever since.

But I will also only watch this because of Michael. I already dread the CGIs... compared to the 83 version with clean fights, NO cables, NO CGI, I miss those 80s series so much...

The wuxia series made these days have great cinematography and beautiful scenes and colours, but still pales in comparison in the fighting department compared to their predecessors in the 80s.

Too bad, cos Michael can still fight. I saw him fighting in Line Walker 2014, and he was still amazing.

OMG, that was the first Yang Kang I've ever watched, and the best looking one too, one worthy of title of Anakin Skywalker. I'm glad he's coming back for LOCH '17.

(Btw, the '98 versions of ROCH don't count b/c they're hard to find and are generally not considered "mainstream"...)

    1. Huang Rong in pictures (except for the first one) to me looks a bit old and not so adorable. Perhaps, they should dress her in yellow.
    2. The first poster is interesting. There are two people riding on the horse. The left could be Guo Jing. Any guess who could be the second in red? This person has a sword at on his/her back.

Michael Miu as HYS, how exciting! His costume looks ugly though.
